  • I think this marked the start of the famous "wrong-derbies hat switch" which of course became one of their trademarks. Leo McCarey who directed this not only had an obvious fondness for it, but used it again, practically as an "homage" in a beautifully-funny scene in his "The Awful Truth" with Cary Grant.
