  • 4 people are afraid of Mushrooms! i am, but at least i thumbed up the video...

  • lol that in not true. there is traffic on the amtrak. in august 06 me my brother and father went on the california zepyhr and a freight broke down in front of us.

  • "I got to get to Cleavland!!!!!" funny lol

  • @jpsmith81 especially considering more people are excited to leave cleveland

  • Haha Remove your belt, you watch, your shoes! :D Next thing the TSA and airlines will ask for is you pants! :D

  • $7 for a pillow

  • i gotta get to clevland lmao that was cute

  • 4 people had to get to Cleveland.

  • I've never seen the full commercial before. They only show the 15-second version on TV. They should show the whole thing.

  • we can't "enjoy the journey" unless we actually JOURNEY somewhere and amtrak doesnt.

  • Hahaha!! BUT I'VE GOTTA GET TO CLEAVELAND!!

  • Great commercial, and it hits on a big nerve for a lot of travelers. Airlines can be an OK experience, but between security, tight budgets, and over worked employee's, it tends to be an exercise in frustration for everyone.

Studies have shown over and over that speed isn't the biggest factor for travelers, comfort and convenience are.

With the TSA pushing what many have nicknamed "The Porno Scanner," Amtrak really needs to push the ads again. "Amtrak: Travel with dignity; Enjoy the journey."

  • omg 0:07 <3

  • ''remove your belt your watch your shoes''..lolz....i have been in every single situation there talking about...especially the ''we are 14th in line for take off''....

  • 0:17 for ginger lulz "i hate traffic"

  • should have skipped that second soda...

  • $7.00 FOR A PILLOW?!?!

  • Three people forgot their belt, watch and shoes.

Man, I love this ad so much~

  • @Jooce1337 Now it should be: "Three people have had their junk groped."

  • GO AMTRAK!

  • Yes, I do hate traffic to. -_-'

  • What is the song that is playing in the backround when it gets to the actual train part?

  • "7 dollars for a PILLOW?!" LOL, that lil dude's voice is hilarious!

    I GOTTA GET TO CLEVELAND!

  • i love model trains and amtrak

  • All Aboard Amtrak!

  • I live near DC (in Montgomery County, MD) and take the Northeast Regional (what WAS wrong with just the "Regional," anyway?) a lot to Providence, RI. I've actually only rode a Regional once anyways to New York. We took the Vermonter back and then they changed the name. I also took the Coast Starlight in First Class from LA to San Francisco once, and also have ridden the Acela three times (once in first, two in business). I hope to save enough AGR points to take the Auto Train next summer.

  • Amtrak is soo fun to ride!!! Take the Train ALL THE WAY!!

  • I haven't seem an ad like this in YEARS. Amtrak all the way!!

  • i gotta get to Cleveland!!! lol

  • I actually once in a life time love this commercial.

    James

  • This is a good commercial. The only thing missing is the All aboard Amtrak music piece at the end. Or is that too cheesy? Anyways, I think Amtrak should start making more commercials like this. Can really help out and boost their ridership. You never know unless you give it a try.

  • i love riding the train.. it becomes a moving 'town' everyone knows everyone else by the end of the journey. i rode the train from california to new york and back again.. i would love to do it again someday!

  • I like your vido

  • The kids in this ciommercial did a GREAT job!!!

  • I enjoyed the one trip I've taken on Amtrak, even though the train arrived something like 8 hours late...

  • I GOTTA GET TO CLEVELAND!!!!

  • Am I the only one that cracked up when the guy said "The train has arrived indeed"?

  • I love the INDEED.

  • COOOOOOOOL!!!!

But remember---the passenger train was in pretty serious danger when Ronald Reagan was President. And there were no P40/42's, Viewliners, nor Acelas back then---but plenty of aging Heritage cars and overworked F40's, as well as hard-working men and women determined to prove that their company was not the "Amtrash" that some folks called them.

Not to mention a man determined not to let down those who believed in the train: W. Graham Claytor, Jr.

  • i love amtrakk

  • Thats a awsome commercial

    5*****

  • "$7 for a pillow?"

"An extra bag costs what?!" XD Oh man, I love this commercial.

  • 0:21 has 2 people hugging in a railroad crossing! lol! :D

  • @metroliner89 Actually they're on a station platform...

  • Too bad that if you gotta get to Cleveland, its going to be in the middle of the night on any Amtrak train.

  • @kmillard CSX controls that side of the line, so CSX and Amtrak have to work together to agree on the schedules. but i think even when the route was New York Central it was still in the middle of the night being its 700 miles from ny

  • I love this commercial because it shows how important rail travel is and shows how much the general public adores trains.

  • I'm going to preface my reply by saying I LOVE passenger rail. I'm not one of those "roads...railroads suck..." people. That said I don't like this commercial because it pretty much perpetuates this whole myth that everyone who likes passenger rail is some nostalgic old coot with an HO scale layout he'd LOVE to show you. Model trains=Amtrak. Yay for the young people who like taking the train who have to deal with that stigma.

  • I'm a 13 year old that's rode on an Amtrak 8 times. I love it

  • ...ok, this commercial just gets more hillarious every time I see it. You really have to give credit to Amtrak and props to whoever directed this.

"Looks like it's bumper to bumper on the interstate."

    "An extra bag costs WHAT?!"

"I wonder how much gas is today??"

They came up with a hillarious and creative way to show how much it sucks to drive or fly on the airlines, and how the train is a MUCH more relaxing and fun way to travel.

  • THESE are exactly the kind of commercials Amtrak should be running. Showing how much more fun and relaxing it is to travel by train. In California, you get stuck in traffic on the freeway and it takes 3 hours to go 40 miles...then you see a train fly by at 75 MPH...gee, I wonder where I would rather be?? Stuck in an overheated car on the freeway...or kicking back in a train, relaxing and listening to my mp3 player and just enjoying the ride.

  • @ct92404 i love amtrak california. its a very well run system.

  • My train in Austin was 6 1/2 hours early, it had to wait there. It was supposed to leave at 9:31 am but I got to get in my sleeper at 6:00. I even had breakfast. The crew and I watched a movie. The rest of the people from San Marcos were kinda mad. Idk how this could happen

  • This ad is a big step for Amtrak, but it's still somewhat out of touch. They need to learn a bit from the SNCF.

  • This is a great commercial l hope people will try the train like l did after l saw the commercial l went and bought three tix for me and my family and it was cool we saw thing's we would not have seen on the plane. Those kids was great l always want to go to cleveland maybe one day l will go on AMTRAK. where did they find them kids they help me pick train or plane and l took the train l hope to see them kids on another amtark commercial. GO AMTRAK!!!!!!

  • Finally, a commercial that reveals the true reason as to why our nation has been in a transportaion deadlock for the past three decades. Rail has been, and always will be, the best way to travel.

  • We should take the train more often. I'm gonna hate flying for the first time. Thanx fur sharin'! TAKE THE TRAIN!

  • Hey, I've seen P42 #134 leading the California Zephyr before (the engine at 0:26).

  • And they put a steam whistle on a diesel because?????

Still a great commercial. TAKE THE TRAIN!

  • Kids love steam trains and whistles. I did.

  • I still do.

  • Great commercial!!! The kids are great in it!!!! So cute!

  • This comes on Tv in Chicago I like it!

  • Doesn't come on around here. D': Would be a nifty commercial to have around here.

  • What about GM and other car companies that have filed for bankruptcy?

I think car companies should change their slogan to the same thing, but, nooooo.

    =_____=

    Think before you type plz?

  • The last time I took Amtrak I was told by the ticket agent "You know this train is always late, right?"

I figured, what, 30 minutes? 40 minutes? No big deal...

    No...

FOUR HOURS LATE. I asked a crew member how long the train has been running late, the ticket agent made it sound like a joke.

Turns out that particular run has been 3 to 4 hours late every week for THIRTY YEARS.

  • This is one of the best commercials ever!

  • "Shoulda skipped that second soda..." (Slow shaking of the head) this commercial cracks me up because it is such a reality of how american adults act and how they are probably seen in the eyes of children. I spent about a half hour looking for this online the other week but couldn't find it because i forgot the company it was for. glad i saw it on tv so i could find it online!

  • I know that little black boy his name is Ryan Collins he's in 3rd grade at my school. He even said he was in it but he was trying to keep it a secret.

  • "I got to get to Cleveland!"

  • this commercial cracks me up!

  • i love that music at the end. anyone know what it's called?

  • Love the shot of San Luis Obispo, CA at the end! The area where it was shot is just north of Cal Poly University SLO. This time of the year it's very green, but most of the year the hills are brown. Great script too, love all the funny lines the boys have.

  • The only thing the commercial is missing is the "All Aboard Amtrak!"

  • It has been proven year after year that Amtrak can't support itself, and it never will. Look at all the successful (that's right, successful) passenger rail networks across the globe and you'll find that all of them are heavily funded by the government as well. And you should remember that highways don't support themselves either, they virtually rely on nothing but tax dollars and federal grants, etc. Take it any way you want (I am a 'railfan/foamer'), but this is simply the truth!

  • Name me a highway project that has "supported itself" please.

The interstate highway system is a bigger feast of soviet-style subsidy than any rail system in the history of the planet.

    More trains please!

  • It's good to see Amtrak promoting itself as something other than a way for retired people to travel.

  • Great ad. Glad to see Amtrak promoting what makes it special.

  • btw, do you know when tis commercial aired?

  • Love this new commercial - and I'm glad it was filmed using the Coast Starlight! Now, if only they'd bring back the "All Aboard Amtrak" theme song :)

  • Yeah. Like when they say, "The train is now arriving" would probably be a good time to start the "All aboard Amtrak" song.

  • Very interesting. Thanks for making this video. haha It's amazing how informative YOUTUBE is nowadays. who would have thought!

  • I shout WHO HOOO every time i see this commerical here in WA. Major AMTRAK fan

  • Wow, that's a great commercial!! I loved it!

  • It would be cool to see a second commercial with those kids on the train

  • San Luis Obispo!!! Awesome scenery at the end =D

  • What a COOL commercial...I wish it would play all over the country!
