  • I don't see the point in spending time on drills like this. The individual movements are sound, but the time it took to choreograph this demo could have been better spent!

  • @cradlecoffer You probably don't see the point because you don't understand the art. Just like any form of training, it takes repetition over and over and over a thousand times so that it becomes instinctive and second nature to you, so that when the time comes to use such technique, you don't have to think about it, it just happens, hence the drill in this video.

  • practice capoeira after doing aikido for a few years....it's really quite cool!

It's like the irimi's in this video, but with kicks and hand-stands and entrancing music!

    Great vid, thanks!~

  • irimi tenkan rulez!!

  • This dancing proofs, Aikido is the japanese Capoeira.

  • Yes, Aikido look like a dance. But it is one way of selfdefend. You feel it, if you learn Aikido.Capoeira it's playing together.

  • Every martial art has at least a few really stupid looking drills. I think the mma drill where you work the bag then jump and fall on your face *looks pretty stupid, but its good sprawling practice. Heck, type "mma drills" on the youtube line and look at the second video.
