  • Thanks for the upload--brings back all sorts of memories.

  • Are you kidding me, everybody knew he was gay, he just didn't shout it from a roof top like everybody does now.

  • @firefoolproductions No, he didn't, dear. He wasn't allowed to. Which is probably why this talented, complex man died at a relatively young age of a heart attack. Like other gay performers of his era Paul was forced to stay in the closet not just to protect his career but to keep from being arrested or run out of town--even though his gayness was an industry open secret. I'm sure he would have loved-- just once, at least --to shout it from the rooftops.

  • Loved his biting sarcasm and wit - Gay or straight - who cares?? His double entendres are classic! Uncle Arthur on Bewitched. . . . . . .LOLOL!

  • 30 yrs ago yes he got away with what he said ,but if Hollywood Squares was on today and if Paul Lynde was alive today as well, and had said some of this sh.. today every organization out there would be offended and want the show off the air.

  • I always liked his keen wit.

  • Paul Lynde was so damn awesome. :)

  • All those gay jokes went right over my head when I was little, but his biting humor was classic. Don Rickles dumbed down - it wasn't personal.

  • how did he get that shirt that matches pauls, i want the name of his vintage store imediately

  • OMG, what was that last neckless blond thing who spoke last?

  • @oiyabastard Better than all that unfunny Christian shit....

  • @StevenShields29

Barbara Eden. Ever watch I Dream of Jeanie?

  • @ebf1957 Actually his name is Bruce Valanch or something close to it. Barbara Eden is not neckless.

  • I love his voice, he reminds me of Roger from American Dad.

  • @BlondeBardie Roger was actually patterned from Paul Lynde as a kind of "tribute" by the writers... Strangely, Paul patterned himself after another comedian (female) named Alice Ghostly.

  • @BlondeBardie roger was based off paul lynd and bart was based off milo from the 80s punk band the descendants

  • @tmzrox - you're obviously delusional. You can't script funny. Idiot hack.

  • Who in hell are those 2 lardass idiots commenting on Paul Lynde?

They couldn't find ANYONE BUT THEM these days?

    Damn we're in SORRY SHAPE.

  • @GooglFascists Frank DeCaro and Bruce Vilanch are both long-time well-known entertainers and gay activists, your unfamiliarity with them notwithstanding. They--especially Vilanch, who's been a Hollywood fixture for a long time, and was himself on the Hollywood Squares for four years--are sensible choice for inclusion in a retrospective like this. I don't know the guy between them, whose name wasn't given during the clip, but I'm supposing he was also a sensible selection.

  • I remember radio stations played the Zingers from the Hollywood Squares album for their Friday Funnies.

  • @tmzrox If that's what you need to believe.

  • Hey Bruce pick me up a side of beef and 4 dozen donuts on your way!
