omg, I am learning this piece for my intermediate class, I never thought this piece could have an enjoyable melody like this, Glenn Gould put it in a whole new level!
To all the people, the invention are NOT easy, I just started with it now and ow god ... ow god ow god, I don't know what happend to me :O ! bussy with #4, and those long trills in the right and left .. oww so killing me :(
I had a teacher in college that made me learn all of 2 part inventions my first semester before she would teach me anything else. To play them correctly is a challenge but gould manages to make it sound simple.
it's a harder piece than you'd think... listen to how he slows down at points... it's not only for style, it's also because this piece alternates so drastically between being dense with short notes and spacious with long notes...
I love this piece

When I was younger, I attempted to learn all the inventions and sinfonias... I learned about 7 inventions and 2 sinfonias. This was my favorite.

@Darkboy2525
yes- you're right-
Although just two separate long ones..... those are hard to maintain though- I see your point.

@slizzler1 true, but well I nailed the no 4 now, and no 1 ! I have to admit, no 1 was even harder then 4 !

Whoaa! :o
.... I find number 1 to be very easy out of the whole lot. Easy to memorize at the very least I would say.
Number 14 is one I am almost nailing; very very nice feeling to accomplish this one.

@Darkboy2525 personally, I find this piece really, really, really easy. On my first try, I played through the whole thing without stopping.

Learn this using a metronome.
At :37 I make it more grand. In this recording, disappointing there.
But our canary seems to like this!
