This is a cool idea but I need proof that it is ACTUALLY better than Berkley/Dominator centrifugal drives. One thing, it looks like it could be better at top end as centrifugal drives get really inefficient after 60mph or so. Lets see some data and a complete demo with holeshot!
Thanks, utubey, for your comments! You can see our first prototype launching from a standing start on the video named "Quick Jet Waterski and Wakeboard Jet Boat". Our systems are designed for the best performance at 0-40 mph.
Great idea, but looks like vaporware at the present time. I dont see a video of the boat launching from a standing start or any acceleration figures. The web site describes standard jets as either slow acceleration or low top end. My 454 Taylorcraft with a Berkeley jet was neither. It made 65MPH and got there in approx 2 boat lengths and was a blast.
Our test boats have about half the hp of your Taylorcraft, weigh about twice as much, and have a deeper V-hull as opposed to the fairly flat bottom hull of your boat. The object here is to take the safety and dependability features of jets to replace propellers in recreational applications like wakeboarding and waterskiing.
