I thought Jenny Lewis, M. Ward, and Zooey Deschanel came off a bit snobby when Elvis Costello asked them how Los Angeles affected their music. As a native of Los Angeles growing up here at the same time they did, I mean come on, were you really going to listen to the Beach Boys on K Earth 101? It would've made more sense if they said they were listening to KROQ which they probably were. I find it hard to believe that Jenny Lewis knew about the music from Laurel Canyon at that age as well.
i love spectacle. i think elivs makes a great interviewer/musicoligist. thanks for posting. i can't wait 'till the show rolls round each week. the only trouble is that it goes too fast. really enjoyed the lou reed one. wish he'd have a chat with john cale and or robert wyatt.
daft, yes, since elvis got this gig by virtue of his spoken word(s), a separate venue (to some degree) and being eloquent in one doesn't guarantee the other, but he's no drag with, or w/o his guitar. this show obviously works as a result

Am I'm totally out of my mind if a say that Elvis is a totally worthless interviewer? He is just so bad. And these interviews could have been so much better. Though I love the music of Elvis and the guys he interview. Such a drag that it didn't end up better. And Jenny's voice sounds pretty odd too. I guess I'm not that used to hear her speak, hehe. But Zooey and Jenny interviewed in the same video. Such a fantasy! :P
Zooey and Jenny in the same interview? Zoemg.

And how many times has Jenny dressed up in that pantsuit? I really like it. But still, there is definietely something called overuse, right?

I disagree, he interviews more from a musicians point of view. Which I find pretty interesting.
