This is great. I would really like to hear Matt sing a cover of Pearl Jam's Deep. I think he would own that track.
And then star in a movie about a man who turns into a raven that makes rare medicines which cure all the diseases of the world, and yet struggles with english puddings and gets quite angry when it can't make a trifle. Yeah, I think that would crease people up. Just imagine it in 3D!! All those moody hundreds & thousands flying out of the screen. WOW!
@08hamster I agree about the Pearl Jam thing...but the rest...uh, maybe? Haha, I’m hoping you were either a) trying to be hilarious [and if so, you've succeeded, unless it’s just me] or b) you were possibly high or drunk or something that explains your ~randomly awesome idea (unless you are like this 24/7 :).
Well, reading it certainly creased me up, purely for the WTFness, so thank you! Xx
But his voice cures everything, even foods that are persistent in not being made into trifles. :P
Ok i've decided......This is my favourite song on the album.....The whole album is awesome......and i have all the tracks on my Ipod cause there's no bad ones....Matt's a great song writer and the band's melodies are so catchy....HE'S GONNA BE HUGE <33
Over on the Seven Summers Face Book page, Matt's band mates are loading videos of live performances of songs from the album, including this, played live. These videos are not going to be put on Youtube, they are exclusive to the Seven Summer FB page. So, if you want to see exclusive footage of Matt and Seven Summers live, check it out.
Matt has said he loves Nirvana. He writes the lyrics and he is obviously influenced by British folk rock from the 60s and 70s on a lot of these songs.
Ok here's my theory it's a little longwinded - They sound like an unplugged combination of nickelback and nirvana with a little incubus thrown in there :) haha it's a good vibe just a lot to roll off the tounge
@wkdstepmother my excuse is that I'm old enough to be into Marillion :-) I think its more in the melodic similarities. "Find me there" chorus in particular. I bet he's too young to have even heard Steve H ! In fact comparing the two makes me quite frustrated that there isn't more lead guitar work in S.S. Neillo is clearly a very accomplished guitarist and does " understated" extremely well. Would love to hear him let loose though - and there are hints of it on the album...

does matt write all the songs himself?

I disagree that it's longwinded. Felt just right to me. Probably up there with my top 3 Seven Summers songs.

I was thinking the same thing, I can hear a lot of Nirvana influence in this.
