  • It's better to just play this on the saturn. Emulation feels like a hoax.

  • 2. Breakdown of the HSTAT block (a red or orange high voltage resistor block connected between the flyback transformer and the CRT) is common. When it goes, the monitor will intermittently fail to show a picture and make peculiar arcing noises. Replacement with a genuine Sony part is the only reliable fix. A genuine Sony part is insisted because generic equivalents are not made to the same tolerances and are known to fail prematurely, requiring you to perform the replacement yet again.

  • Things to look out for on these monitors, though:

    1. Cold solder joints. Sony didn't use enough solder on a lot of their solder joints on their boards. This is compounded by the age and possible level of use these monitors will see. Fix by reflowing affected solder joints, especially in high heat areas.

  • Perhaps this may be better than "arcade perfect" for one simple fact: you are running the game on a Sony PVM series monitor with a fine dot pitch Trinitron picture tube.

This monitor is used for broadcast, production, and medical purposes, so its performance easily exceeds that of monitors used in arcade machines.

And that's how it may be better than the arcade, aside from the free plays.

  • Great! Superior to PSX version!
