u know ive seen paul in 2002 in houston and he played this song ..this is actually pretty good....i think denny was a huge part of wings.....linda couldnt sing god rest her soul....and paul was just being paul he never had a collaborater like denny since john....i grew up in the seventies born in the 60's so i heard these albums as they came out....i bet paul was really feelin like a trapped beatle again in wings he needed to find himself all over again and go solo...paul's so talented .

Paul stopped talking to Denny Laine because Denny released a song without Pauls permission whilst Wings were still together. I believe the song was called 'Japenese Tears' and was about Paul's imprisonment in Japan for possesion of Cannibus.

I was at school with Denny Laine when he had a group , Denny Laine & the Diplomats, Then he joined the Moody Blues, and I bet he wished he had stayed, instead of joining Wings, ansuffering Linda's tantrums...

@paata1961 no. Paul and Denny never had anything to do with eachother after Wings split up. Paul was mad at Laine for leaving- basically ditching the band- and Laine was mad at Paul for taking most of the credit for stuff and was overall just jealous of Paul

I wouldn't say Denny ditched the band. It was Paul who disbanded Wings. Denny wanted to continue touring in 1981 but Paul didn't want to and was more interested in solo albums.

I like Macca, but this time he was very, very wrong. Denny did NOT deserve the mistreatment he got from Paul, period.

And by the way, Denny is one of the most gracious blokes you could ever meet. Try talking to Paul sometime.

OK....maybe I can accept WINGS with no Paul McCartney...but not without Linda McCartney...its like SPAM without the grissel and bone by products...just ain't the same. Can't fault Denny Laine for trying to make a living after Paul left him with nothing following WINGS. I don't think this poor guy even collects partial royalties despite being an original member of the band and writing some of the tunes.

Around the time of his bankruptcy filing (1986), in need of money, he sold Paul his half of the rights to Mull of Kintyre, of which he was a co-writer. In the long scheme of things that may have been a big mistake.

Ashame. Denny gave his best years to Wings and in the end was nothing more than a contract employee. I wonder how much money is enough to sate Paul's appetite. Bob Spitz's book "The Beatles" depicts McCartney's burgeoning obsession with money including back door deals attempting to buy greater stake in Northerns songs behind Lennon's back. Lennon was furious. Denny will never see his song writing credits returned for Mull of Kintyre.

@SOLISDEUS His songwriting credits exists forever on Myull Of Kyntyre. What he isnt getting is royalties from the song. The reason Denny Laine sold his rights in that song for a reported £200, 000 ( some $400,000 ) is becuase he was skint. McCartney didnt force him to sell.

Although I love Paul (Macca) - one who knows anything about Wings...knows there was a contract...where D.Laine wrote alot of the stuff...but Macca got the credit. So actually a Wings Band without Mac and Linda is okay.

I went to one of these. It was in Danvers MA. It was a trip to see soo many people dying to get a chance to sing any of these songs. People gathered in the lobby for a giant jam session. Beatlemania going strong forever. They're so fab!
