Link and Spawn had good movesets, they both had a good story, and they just seem to fit so well in the soul series.
Link- Warped to that world to destroy Soul edge to stop the evil it spread to hyrule.
Spawn- Sent back through time by malebolgia to retrieve soul edge so malebolgia could control spawn but spawn realized malebolgia's intentions and dropped the sword in a another time frame while he was traveling back through the portal.
