  • could someone, please, tell me what music played during the first episode (when they all took some alien artifacts home) and the fairy one? I loved those melodies, but could not find them anywhere(((

  • I like the part between 2:14 - 2:40 the most.

But the rest of the song is also great.

  • The title of this song inspired me to write a poem. I love this song so much!

  • Why does this make me cry? *sobs emotionally, blows nose furiously into tissue* D':

RIP Ianto and Tosh! (Not Owen, though -- Owen's an ass. No offense, Owen fans.)

  • what else ?

  • Torchwood.

  • 1:38 <3

  • I'm not a huge fan of Gwen. And yet I connect with her emotionally, if she cries I cry, cant explain it (well other than Torchwood is awesome and evil and no one knows how stopwatches became dirty)

  • @belladonna2007 wait what? stopwatches are dirty? is that why ive been getting all those looks down the supermarket? O.o

  • @fenrir139 Yep! Ianto's line to Jack: I've still got that stopwatch, sir...there's a lot you can do with a stopwatch.

And with that, stopwatches became dirty:)

  • owens theme FTW

  • I HATE Gwen. am i the only one?

  • @phantomshadowoflove gwen is the soul of torchwood how can anyone hate her?

  • @doctorw2 Because all she does is fuck up and blames everyone else but herself. she's irresponsible and can't do anything right but make people's lives hell.

  • @phantomshadowoflove yeah shes a lot like the rest of us, thats what makes her character connect with the audience.

  • @doctorw2 i guess you're right. but she honestly could use a personality tune up. and she's the most irritating person I've ever know of. D8<

  • @phantomshadowoflove well, as i said she is like most of us. who in this world doesnt need a personality tune up? and most people are irritating as well.

  • i was already crying, but around 1:50 when Owen's theme came through, i lost it.

All the people that Jack has lost in his life, and he just has to keep carrying on.

    He can never escape it.

And I think that this music captures all his pain, all the pain that he hides by flirting and just being outrageous, and really portrays it in the most striking way possible.

Jack can't let himself love people because it hurts too much, but he has too much love in his heart not to love anyone.

  • @fantasylover42 u said it all :)

  • there is going to be another series of torchwood, and there are rumours that russell tovey (allonso from voyage of the damned, and george from being human) may be joining the cast. im not sire exactly when filming will start, because it was supposed to in january but i think john barrowman was working on desperate housewives, but there is definantly going to be more torchwood! yay!

  • @bulletcookiegirl Well it did start in January but they were goning to do it sooner but they had to postpone in because Eve was pregnant. XD Im happy there's going to be another seires, I don't think I could live without knowing what was going to happen.

  • When ever I here this,I can just picture that sceen when their on the hill

It's a brilliant peice of music, and when you hear all the others themes in it,it makes me feel that they'l be with Jack where ever he goes.

  • so sad when you hear just the slightest hints of the characters themes, especially iantos.

  • dunno bout everyone else, but I really don't feel like watching the Gwen and Jack show.. series 4 had better be fanfuckingtastic. sorry if im bitter, but im still kinda pissed that everyone dies except for my least favorite character. except jack. jack is still awesome, of course :)

  • i love this, i love the way that owen, ianto and tosh's themes are all incorporated into this. ben foster is such an amazing composer. this piece is really beautiful and adds so much to the scene.

  • Its really annoying. Jack runs away in shame and still manages to make his last line sound action-hero-ish.

  • I really hope it's not his LAST last line. Stephen Moffat had better bring him back :)

  • Um, RTD is still in charge of Torchwood...and they're doing a new series.

  • Definitely? Awesome :D

As a spin-off of Doctor Who, I suppose I just assumed RTD would leave it too... but he does suit Torchwood more than Doctor Who :)

I'm so glad that Captain Jack isn't disappearing into nothingness like everything else from RTD's era :)

  • actuallly the last scene of the end of time was like a wrap for RTD. Therefore someone could come back but they might not. and anyway jack was a moffat creation so he has more chance of returning to doctor who than the others

  • Yeah tbh I don't mind most of the companions leaving forever (especially Rose), but Captain Jack wasn't an average companion... instead of being a relatively dependant young woman, he was a confident and controlled "Darker Doctor" type character... it's hard to explain, but he isn't just "part of the system" like all the other companions seem to be :)

  • yeah i know what you mean and it is hard to explain but i think he is so different to the others maybe because he was moffat creation

  • I always think about Gwen's line "you cannot just run away, you CANNOT run away" when I listen to this and it just makes me cry. So beautiful though.

  • couldnt of said it better myself dude, i think people underetimate how good the acting is in both doctor who and torchwood and its RTD pull that gets these great actors for these fantastic roles

  • i hadn't noticed the bits of toshs, owen and ianto ballads really made me cry when i noticed it

  • same here

  • Ben Foster is a genius.

    An absolute genius.

    His music makes me cry.

  • I really love how Ianto's, Owen's, Tosh's and Jack's themes were all incorporated into this.

A beautiful, moving piece, second only, for me, to The Ballad of Ianto Jones.

    Fantastic. :)

  • Indeed, I think it's more of a general loss/ death theme, more centered around Jack than anyone else. Listen to the "Jack's Love Theme" and "I Believe In Him" tracks and you'll hear what I mean -- this particular theme's used much more prominently there and they both tie in with Jack's immortality and consequent grief.

It's interesting, this one, as it isn't nearly as well defined as Owen's. Still, even without the context it's sad and beautiful.

    ... sorry, I'm a bit of a soundtrack geek. :)

  • Actually, my theory is that it's not necessarily Tosh's theme, even if it was most prominently featured during her death. It wasn't ever really featured in the one really Tosh specific track - "Betrayal and Redemption" and only briefly towards the end of the "Toshiko and Tommy" track when the latter died.

  • its a bit like it at 1:43 but that's the only similarity i found

  • don't think so

  • It is, that section corresponds with Jack mentioning about Owen, Ianto and Tosh dying :)

  • Is it just me or can I hear a tiny bit of Owens theme in there? x 1:00 till about 1:05 ??? xx

  • Yep, it's definitely there. Along with Tosh & Ianto's themes. Ben Foster confirmed it.

  • Okay thanks :)
