@InTheCity3D There isn't one standard way of speaking English, we have many accents just as every other English speaking nation. On the other hand, we have kept the written form of it quite pure and clean, unlike one other nation I can think of, which likes to coin cheap sounding slang bullshit and incorporate it into the standard language, which unfortunately spreads around and cheapens the language itself.

Our language is adaptable but that dosen't make it okay to butcher it. Hands off.

@InTheCity3D Oh yes that "culture" that makes up less than 10% of the population, sure they're an irritance but they're hardly out of control. They spent all of three days rioting, causing a lot of damage, the media told everyone about that, then lots of thick people took that as a sign of "Britain in chaos". All the while, media bosses chose not to report much about the thousands of English folk volunteering to clean up the streets.

Call America what you want, those who frown upon on it have either never visited or think they got a taste when they came to Disney land. I live in Berkeley and work in San Francisco, two of the most culturally aware, Liberal and diverse places on the planet. Most of the people I knew growing up are educated to the level of fifth graders and are still plagued by stupidity.

Alternatively, they frown because they know the country is run by corporations and news groups, who've taken advantage of a weak two party system and utilise the uneducated masses in the South to get cheap votes for the puppet they prefer in the senate.
