Ok - first off, does ACTRA condone the "borrowing" of other folk's clips? Secondly, does ACTRA champion the perpetration of the old stereotype of Canadian film sucking and Canadian artists being incompetent backwoods yahoos? I enjoy a good satire as much as anyone else and know how to laugh at myself, but this just isn't very funny and ACTRA should know better.
I think the idea was make the point that Canadian film is underfunded, but that never really comes across until the credits & even then, it's pretty lame. It does still portray Canadians as being useless, 'backwoods' dolts and that the only reason foreign (us) productions come here is that they get tax breaks - not because Canadian talent and production services are top notch. Bad message (why is ACTRA rewarding this?).
