From what it appears like, Buu teleports every time he gets hit in order to avoid getting juggled. Kinda reminds me of a Gulthor character.

He teleports and actually takes no damage save custom state forcing attacks. OTW's explosion put him in a custom state so even if he can teleport form it the damage remains.
