I can see now why there could be a good possibility as to why this 3rd Ghostbusters movie is not being made. The first 2 films were really good and both are a huge classic. If you look at most movies that have had a 3rd film, mostly every time those 3rd films suck, such as Robocop 3, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 3, Home Alone 3, Terminator 3. Follow me? And plus it was just reported today that Bill Murray said he will not be doing Ghostbusters 3 so lets face it, there will not be a 3rd film.
GB3 would have to be a "passing of the torch" movie in which we're introduced to a new generation of 'Busters as the original actors are quite old now.
and bill murray knows that its going to be good just like caddyshake 3 would be good our a nother stripes .... and even a part 2 to what about bob.............

yeah the 2 emblem was a bit hastily placed, they were still the Ghostbusters, it's not as though the ppl in (movie NYC) knew that there was a sequel, that is their real life. lol
I think, IF they make a new ghostbusters, it must be very well made to keep up with the old ones and I have no problem waitng for it instead of being dissapointed
Indiana Jones IV was NOT a bomb. 77% on the tomatometer and a huge box office profit does not a bomb make. Is it as good as Raiders? No. Just as Live Free or Die Hard isn't as good as Die Hard and Terminator 3 isn't as good as T2, but it is very entertaining. Ghostbusters should do two sequels back to back.

From what I understand, they're re-releasing Ghostbusters in theaters this October, and then will guage from those sales whether or not to green light Ghostbusters 3. If they DO green light Ghostbusters 3, it's gonna be a pass the torch movie... so in my opinion? Fuck that. Keep Ghostbusters the original crew, and let us remember the memories, the blu-rays, and the re-releases.

@JeremiasMusic Haha, the actors were in their late thirties-early forties when the original Ghostbusters films were made. Heck, Harold Ramis was 45 in Ghostbusters 2. They're in their 60's now, or close to it. But Dan Aykroyd has already said that even though he and the other original actors will be in the movie, they will be passing the baton to newer, younger Ghostbusters.

Bill Murray has enough class to realize that another sequel could only be a letdown. Even if it's passably funny, it's completely unnecessary. God, if only Frances Ford Coppola had Bill Murray's sense, we'd never have had to endure GF3. Or Ackroyd...remember BB 2000, that piece of crap? Bill is too smart for that.
