  • Hey rebelyell91, didn't know you watched m13 as well.

  • Oh nice! i have the same exact camera, how much did you get yours for?

  • any problems with editing with the contour software?

  • great video!

lol luv the lil' noises u make..super cute :)

  • @dollaparis ....uhhhhhhhhh.. thanks? :P

  • Hey Rebel, I got a similar helmet and my camera is Flip Ultra HD; Now the question is - do you have any ideas on how to attach it to the helmet?

Also when you had ur old setup with v570 - did you touch the camera with your nose? lol

  • As my expertise in vid/sound sincing is non-existant, is there a camera available that has a remote mike input socket, so that when it come to replay the video, vid/sound are already sincronised, I hope ?.

  • k so i race motocross as well and see all types of helmet cams. but im liking this one. what about weather? im in a valley so street riding is tricky in spring. summer its very very rarely wet. but spring. oooooh man. mother nature has a yearly divorce is my conclusion to it. but anyway, how is the current camera your using on weather? and price???

  • they shud make a small camera tht is built into the mouth vent to the helmet.....itd be so much easier

  • What video settings (size and fps) to you use with the ContourHD?

  • Quick question from your video: "Why I Vlog": How Much do you spend on gas cause when I get my bike I am going to my Ex-girlfriends house and pick her sister up and go to Phoenix,AZ or Atlanta,GA!!!! ROAD TRIP!!!

  • @99darkhawk traffic in atlanta is outrageous last time i was in downtown i witnessed at least 4 crashes

  • initialy i was thinkin of just using my smal mp3 good quality sound recording, but this actualy looks cooler with just a small wire microin the helmet, in this case im thinking of the go pro not the countour

  • One easy way to synchronize video and audio would be to clap in front of your helmet at the beginning of filming. Cut it out, but use it to synch.

  • how much was that wind shield visor?

  • Why do you blur your face around 5:20?

  • Hi Rebel! My actual internet name is Jordye90, and I'd just like to say that your videos are inspiring. Truly entertaining to watch. I have been watching the ninja 250r for quite some time and after watching yours and Fly's videos I'm definitely going to pick one up this coming fall.

I'm actually very interested in Vlogging and think that I might start. Very interesting stuff. Thank you for putting up these videos and keep it up! I'll be watching ;)

  • lol, thanks man, I'm glad you like the videos and like vlogging, you should give it a try once you are comfy on the bike (:

  • really great videos man! Hoping to get my ninja 250 soon and you've been an inspiration! :)

  • keep me updated when you get it (:

    thanks for the comment too!

  • Interesting setup. Although the whole removing the mic and stuff must get annoying. I found a workaround though if you're interested. Mic becomes permanently in your helmet, all you need to do is plug in

  • dose the olympus turn on the contour HD also so it is in sync

  • sadly no

  • so it is all about the editing

  • love your "instructional" vlogs.. and this is another great one to add to the list :)

Going to take this winter and setup my pov mic correctly in the shark.. and that tip of hiding the mic is great!

Keep the great work up man!

    5*

  • (: Glad I can help with the mic thing. Your comments are always great (:

  • what s up reb first of all ur the man i watch all ur vids ok i have a personal question so idk if u wanna awnser it but im wondering how much money per month do u make/pay for the bike because im trying to buy a bike but i dont know if i can afford it

  • I pay 200 a month (US dollars)

  • ok did u lease the entire 5000 dollars or did you have a down payment

  • $500 down payment

  • Rossi fan, 5 Stars

  • ^_^

  • personally i liked the original set up rebel, but this is more convenient for you and better for your safety which were all great full for!

  • I couldn't agree more

  • I almost saw your face that you've been keeping as a secret :D (not very clear tough..)

  • A great set up video!

    Explained very well indeed :-)

  • Glad it was explained (:

  • lol no affense rebel but... a bit long for a "setup video" ha ha.... but still nice setup! lol i thought you had the mic hooked up to the camera... totally wrong about that! lol

  • thank ya man :D

and.....yeah it was 2 setup videos in one... but yeah it was bit long :P

  • lol dude if I'm driving around and I see a guy on a ninja with a camera on his helmet i'm gonna yell at you. hahaha

  • lol do it

  • I gotta say I've always liked the sound out of the kodak better. (The perspective of your videos w/ the kodak was always interesting too, since they would start off with the closing of the visor...) :)

  • Question on the ContourHD, after checking out their web site and getting a look at yours, I was wondering if the two lasers on the sides of the lens that help you to sight it in stay on all the time the camera is on or if there is a way to shut them off one you have the camera lined up the way you want it. Just wondered because I would think the battery would last longer if you can turn them off once you're happy with the way its lined up.

  • the lasers only come on during start up to help you get your view lined up (although it doesn't work for me)

  • cool setups! I still use my cell phone but I wish I could have 1 of those contours... its just too expensive to import, would cost about US$600.00. I guess I´ll wait until I have the opportunity to travel to US or have a friend bring it in their luggage.

  • sounds good man :P

  • Are they?! I can snap them on with my eyes closed

  • awesomeness lol how much was the whole setup??

btw this is exactly what i was thinking when i start vlogging in about 5 years lmfao

  • 5 years wow lol

5 years from now it'll be like.... 5K res and crazy 3D live video :P

Anyways, whole setup was $380 ish

  • yea man it sucks i hate being 15 cuz of that reason i wanna wait 5 years because im starting on a 600 and i need 2 be smart so i dont die. cuz if im 17 or 18 and get a 600 ill be an idiot and crash... so yea i wanna be smart about it. only problem is my parents...

  • Not dark enough. Could you make it darker so we can't tell what's going on, please?

  • i really like the look of that contour setup, nicely explained reb :)

  • Thanks Dan. ^_^

  • Cool,thanks Rebel.

  • How much does it obstruct the vision of camera to the right, being mounted on the left side. Why don't you like it on top of the helmet?

  • the top view makes it seem you are very tall, and it doesn't show any bike

  • lololo the mic failed at life thats good

  • hey rebel, would you like to do a vid on how you sync your audio and visual on vegas pro 9?

  • I will actually! :D

  • sweet! xD

  • We can almost see your face in the visor reflection at 4:09

    :P

  • Awesome vid as usual =-)

  • well thank ya!

  • yay! the vid I've been waiting for! awesome! Thanks Reb!

  • 808 thank ya (:

  • Nicely done RY! Everything was clearly & fully explained. :-)

    * Is ur bullet cam setup fully weather-proof (even in extreme downpours)?

    * What would the cost factor difference be to achieve similar results using a compact HD cam? (taking into account all the additional accessories ur using).

    * Who else uses the ContourHD setup? (I can't think of any other motovloggers off-hand).

  • Thanks! I'm glad it was clear :D

    * I havn't tested it myself but I have seen videos of the CHD sustaining heavy downpours

    * My Setup total was $380-390 | A Sony Cybershot (like AtlasRider) is about $400 last time I checked

    * the ContourHD was actually used with a seperate mic before me by another guy, he did like 3-10 videos in CA. His name is something like "aboslutsoju" or something

  • Yeah that's his YT user name, but on his profile he writes:

"well, with a broken camera, there's no vlogging for me for now... but I'll make a comeback once I get my camera issues fixed. "

Not sure what happened, but I assume he's working on it. He also had those dreaded bullet cam sound issues on his vids. I think ur vid would be helpful to serafina, although she doesn't seem interested in doing any dialogue, or so she claims anyway :-(

  • I actually talked to Absolut when I was first looking into the CHD and wanted a mic setup, he was talking to me about modding the CHD to have a external mic come directly from the camera itself. I soon abandoned that idea and just went with a separate audio system.

I am guessing he's having audio issues, but who knows, I hope it gets better though, because he vlogs well from what I've seen.

  • His Duc monster is nice :-)

  • btw SF also has the ContourHD cam, but she seems to have already given up on getting decent sound from it. She mentioned that she'll probably put her cam footage to music.

I think all the Euro motovloggers who use bullets all seem to be choosing the POV setups.

So just to be totally clear, ur using the ContourHD1080p right?

  • I just remembered that "sgtmarkins" also just bought a ContourHD also, but he hasn't really used it yet.

He's a new vlogger on the scene & what's really interesting is that he has a Zi8 + a VadoHD + a CountourHD. So needless to say that should make for some interesting comparisons :-)

  • no, I am useing the "1st gen" ContourHD ContourHD - I WISH I had the ContourHD1080P :P (next camera prolly)

and wow! quite the comparisons indeed. :D

  • Hey rebelyell91...thank you for an excellent and informative video...well done...clear and easy to follow. Rob from Vancouver, Canada.

  • Thanks man, I am so glad it was at least informative :D

  • Cool setup.

  • thanks :D

  • Like the setup, cool vid.

Pity I can't afford the Contour HD right now ;) You made me want to have one... :P:P

  • Lol I'm selling ANOTHER product now?!? Jeeeezzz :P

  • Very Pro Cam setup, nice job Reb.

  • many thanks himfan :D

  • I have been looking at cameras for next season lately, looking at the GoPro, ContourHD and some small camcorders to slap on the tank. How long can you record with the Contour? Battery-wise and recording time wise. I fear that the ContourHD would fall off and break easier than the GoPro in the case. How well does the mount affix to the helmet and do you know if they are waterproof? I have a few more questions depending on the answers but am limited in space lol. Thanks

  • records up to 2 hours in HD but can hold up to 10G i think it was so if you get extra batteries you can record forever, it sticks on amazing you can take a hard crash and it will stick to the side of your helm, it is water resistant but not proof, its ok to use it in a light rain or in the snow but using it during a heavy rain storm is not recamended, its a great cam i use it for dirt biking and snowmobiling so you can imagin the abuse it goes threw and it works great

  • I can record for 2+ hours I'd say for the battery.

and the CHD is VERY solid on there, I am quite confidant with it. the mount it awesome, but idk about water.

if you have any more questions just message me

  • Did u have to drill int the helmet to get that flat mount on?

  • it's adhesive

  • nice video and also nice camera setup.

  • well thank ya

  • I really like how thats set up man! The cheek pad idea is very slick because it takes care of the cord being in the way, the wind noise, and even helps hold the mic. Very awesome thinking. If it wasnt for the syncing id be ordering one of those cams right now. Awesome vid my friend! (:

  • Thanks Dave/Chairs (:

Maybe I shoudl start my own company to get a nice camera and mic together :P

  • Might not be such a bad idea. You'd make a lot more money then just vloggers because id bet a lotta peeps would buy it. Could be a million dollar idea.

  • great video, thanks for the good instruction

  • Nice work Reb. I've got my ContourHD the other day and am planning to start my vlogging next weekend.

Good info, thanks for the share on your setup.

  • :D good stuff man. Glad to see you are here EatRiceRider (:

  • i almost saw your face XD

  • Yeah the mirror visor was idd sorta working against him i this case LOL

  • aLMOST

  • Very nice mate, is the contour HD resistant to rain? Im sure u don't get much rain where u live though haha :D.

  • Yup its water dirt and shock-proof

  • I don't have to worry about any rain here no :P

but yeah it's water resistant and I have seen it being used in HEAVY rain

  • rebelyell's face a 1:10

  • yeah but you dont see anything lolol

  • how did you pay for the contour?

  • I work? lol

  • is there any you can buy with it all

  • Vio pov 1.5 but its not an HD camera its highest resolution is 720x480. They are pretty durable as they are just a fex of the camera's the NitroCircus crew uses

  • could there be any helmet that wouldn't allow a camera inside of it? maybe the visor is to close?

  • there are helmets that don't have room for cameras yes

  • Nice lighting, I could almost see the helmet.

  • almost :P

  • cool

  • Freakin Sweet

  • Thanks terror :D
