  • He grabbed lower because the force of the strike went through the lungs. He was winded.

  • MEDIC!!!

  • That guy just pooped himself!

  • is that eric chen? SHOULDA USED FULL FORCE GLEN.

  • It's ironic; I know in some styles i've studied, we teach the beginning board breakers to use the hammer because it protects their hands. It also doesn't give you that jarring effect through all your arm joints when the object doesn't break. But I've never seen it broken down and structured to include your whole body the way Glen teaches it.

  • Funny, I myself came to the conclusion that hitting your fist like that would be more powerful than an upercut. When you use a hammer, you dont do upercuts on the nail, you use you elbow's extention muscles, because they are more powerful. This should also apply to a puch, or to a knife stab.

  • I've seen this punch in a martial arts science program. They attached electrodes to a dummy to calculate how far the chest is pushed in and the kind of force the hit generates, and so on. In the show it basically described that the hit generates a huge amount of pressure and damage in a very small space. Thus effectively shutting the body down basically. The body needs time to recover and thus you go down. Is that about how it works?

  • Why you guys talkin so much smack? What are you talking about Why would you say that the techniques that he uses dosnt work in real fights? One of the deadlies spec.forces in the world (spetsnaz) are using techniques similar to these, pressure points and thecnique instead of what you guys call "fight winning" hard hitting. They can take down enemys from the stranges position with just technique and moving theit feet.

  • @pimpin1blacksock Could wright so much more but it seems it would be a waste of time cuz the most of you probably wont care anyway and wont change yout mind even tough someone who knows a lot about this tells you how it is...

  • Man look at all these posers commenting. I never got a Hammerfist myself and i'd prefer never being hit lol but i do know the pain of having the wind knocked out of my lugs and feeling all the force in my chest(rugby, 2006 highschool, tackled by a 6'8" Maori dude)

  • zoe bell would kick his ass

  • Why he use a book to black a Tettsui-Uchi?

  • Thanks for the support guys.

    As we know:

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

Arthur C. Clarke, "Profiles of The Future", 1961 (Clarke's third law)

  • ok ill admit that was a good punch, but that guy looks a liiiiiiiiitle overexagerative

  • @ChiStriker I dunno man. I kinda feel the same way, but then I think about how it would feel to get into a 35 mph car crash. (Which is what the scientist who measured his force said he put out.)

  • @ChiStriker He's not.

  • @HYDE9320 you make no sense suck an orange

  • @ChiStriker You said he was over exaggerating, I said he's not. What are you retarded?

  • @HYDE9320 well i said hes old and out of shape and he hasn't taken a hit in a while

  • @ChiStriker Ok, but I didn't reply to that comment.

  • I wonder if people realize Glen has gotten concrete data from those nifty scientist people (you know, the ones with degrees) that justifies the amount of force he puts out.

  • where does he get that power from?

  • I'm really really unsure about this guy....

Love to meet him and see for myself. I actually train in ninjutsu myself.

  • damn... looked like his liver and ribs hurt, strong hit never the less =)

  • do you know that the ninja used that as a killing tech. the rotating hammer rist to the heart!

  • this surely hurts.. damn

  • This is a very hard punch, you can stop a person's heart by doing it right... as a fighter I'd never ever try this on someone without the specific protection... even tough nice video dude, it hurted on me!

  • @RicoBR15 Thats the difference between Ring Competition and Self Defense.

  • His last words were, "Hey, guys, check this out!"

  • btw, to the people who say he's grabbing his stomach....his stomach is on the other side under the ribs.

  • Looks like you winded him :D. Wait, thats Eric Chen! *observes more info* oh it says right there.

Notice how he grabs the lower part of his ribs. The air left his lungs, winded, very very painful.

I like how the gym goes silent all of a sudden, rarely happens for most gyms.

  • the hammer fist is like taking a jack hammer to sum1s chest

  • it seems you have a valid point...then you nullify it with name calling. he's done it on non-compliant Maori (read:thick with gristle). he's also set it up nicely with a cross-hook-hammer where the guy still got a forearm up tight against his head. it went through and still dropped the guy. obviously any technique has an optimum set up. that's why the phone book is used to dissipate the force. contact him on ninjaskilledmyfish and set up an appt. bring a video camera.

  • Fair enough. If you do end up going to NZ, let me know. In the meantime maybe you can upload some vids explaining your positions on real fighting and why Glen's techniques are faulty.

  • @israelifaggot misleads people by almost completely disabling them from a fight? The proof is in front of you there's no specail effects

  • @israelifaggot LOL YOU JEWS ALL YOU KNOW IS KRAV MAGA, AND NOT EVEN JEW JITSU!

  • @ChiStriker, oh you horrid antisemite, you hitler number 2. you nazi, you nazi, stop abusing me, i that reallty hurt. btw, did you realise your heros name is glen LEVY. yes LEVY, he is probably a jew as well. so think again before you make fun of the chosen people, bitch.

  • @israelifaggot hes not my hero, but he is pretty cool. You admited that this is real but you think that if a target becomes moving he won't be able to do it nearly as good. That is true, but he can do it a lot better than you would think on a moving target. He never said that is how you should fight, but this is how he fights and it is very effective for HIM because he is a master at it

  • Were does Glen Levy teach.........who teaches this? i know that others teach the hammer fist but do they teach it like this?

  • Actually, thats Eric Chen, if you would search him up, hes quite established in the martial arts world and also as a stunt actor (which means he can take a shitload of pain). He probably have achieved more his lifetime than you can ever hope to achieve. And for godsake, its a demonstration, not a fight. If you want a fight, then go buy pay per view for fights.

  • "stunt actor", yeah he must be a real tough guy.

  • I would love to see you try to do the stunts he does. You know why they need stunt doubles in movies? because the real actors are fucking to pussy to take the damage that these guys are willing to take...and trust me, if you dont know how to take a hit, you're gonna get hurt. And looking at how Eric Chen is still alive and healthy after all those stunts, IM GUESSING HE DOES KNOW HOW TO TAKE A HIT....but too bad the hammer fist was too hard for him...

  • actually...first of all, it doesnt seem that you know anything about martial artist...ALL MARTIAL ARTIST IS REQUIRED TO BE FAST, FASTER THE BETTER....MArtial arts WAS ORIGINALLY A SURVIVAL METHOD...when someone comes at you with a knife, you dodge as fast as you can and strike back, thus you need speed, agility and sometimes even a bit of flexibility...and ALSO doenst matter how much you condition yourself, there are still many ways to destroy the human body..soo no one is gonna stand there

  • that i would disagree, if the guy is fast enough to reach your vital points before you can do anything, then you have lost. Martial art was designed soo weaker (lack of strength) can fight with people stronger than they are. So if you argue that power is important in martial arts then, it would contradict the whole concept of martial art. BESIDE...who said speed doesnt generate power. if you look at the formula F = Mass x Acceleration, then the more you accelerate, the more force you would have

  • Iunno man, i think BOTH of us kind of went off topic when you said martial arts is about power and strong stance..rather than speed..hmmm...have you tried searching up the video of Glen levy on fight science? It measures the power of his blow on a crash test dummy.......and its produced by national geographics....search it up...and maybe that prove how effective it is

  • @jerrywu78 You seem to know a bit about Martial Arts ..

Who do you think would win in a fight?

    Jet Lee vs Glen Levy

    Tony Jaa vs Glen Levy

    Tony Jaa vs Jet Lee.

I'm interested in your opinion :)

  • mmhmmmm...i dont know that much about martial arts, just that i tend to read a lot and if i have time between studying, i would practice at the local martial arts club.

hahaha jet lee vs. glen levy...hmmm i would say glen levy for all them BUT if its a fight, you never know whats gonna happen......if you make one mistake or if dust gets in your eye, that split second will be enough for the other person to knock you out....or worse

  • Eric Chen started as a Sanshou fighter because he didn't like doing forms. He later went into forms because he was good at it. He is definitely not a gymnast at 55 years of age. So yes he does know how to take a hit. I understand your argument but for this video It's not valid. Martial arts fighters are NOT heavy footed. If they were they would not have speed. Get your facts straight.

  • Eric asked Glen to give him a good hit just because he wanted to see how it feels. That's how this video came to be. It wasn't a demonstration to the public. It was a demonstration of pain for the curiosity of one man. The rest of the class didn't even know it was going on until the room got quiet.

  • And stunt guys do in fact know how to take a hit. How do you think they get beat up doing those stunts and get right back up for take 2? Besides EVERY SINGLE stunt guy I've ever met is a martial artist.

For the love of God, please get your facts straight before you open your big mouth.

  • ouch

  • What if everyone learned this?

  • Then that would be bad.

  • glen has already hit me with that punch ahah and it realy hurts! ahah

  • Its not fake!!!!!!!! wat are you on??

  • Yes. Many people on a handful of continents who've never met have conspired to puff this guy up.

  • Thats right its fake. Keep that in mind when your lung gets collapsed by some goon who learns such a technique.

  • ..look where the "test dummy" man is holding his hand after that "killing" blow.....on the belly ! :D..and thank you from now on i'll be more careful so mu lung doesn't get collapsed

  • PAin bounces around the body and not just in one spot.

The spot Levy hit him was a nerve and a popular spot for little guys who know it exist.

You get the same effect in CPR and even the military teaches things like this( i nkow because im a NZTF)

  • Comment removed

  • it's not fake.

  • @Anjinsann Glen could fuck you up! Have u seen fight science at all? What style do you do? I have been practicing Taekwondo for 15 years now and studied so much philosophy in fighting and Martial Arts...come challenge me you pufta!

  • Oh man, i'd rather get shot than taking that punch.

  • shit...

  • Would have been a macabre lol if his hearth had stopped...

  • what if it woulda been done with out the phone book?

  • he would have died

  • The coolest guy i know. It's not just the amazing wushu that he teaches, it's stunts, life lessons, the whole package. Hope to meet you there soon.

  • how does he generate so much power

  • You'll have to check out his seminars for that one. there's a lot to it. Mine has come a long way and it's still not a tenth of his.

  • I saw Mr Chen at that school a few days ago and I begged for his autograph. I can't wait to move there to start school. He's a really cool guy!

  • The hell! Damn that shit musta hurt

  • Impressive. Poor coach Chen though. He'll probably feel that for a while.

  • Luckily Glen can heal most of it on the spot as well. Glen really doesn't like doing this on people just for demo purposes. Unfortunately Coach Chen's students were in Berkeley for a Wushu competition so he did just one more for them when they got back. Look in my videos for 'fa jing demo1'.

  • Awesome bro. an exellent display with a partner of huge cred. fantastic to see.
