  • One of my favor chapters of the whole series of OUTLANDER.

    Love it !!

  • what is the name of the song??

  • Its from the movie Rob Roy, it called the Reiving.

  • This is just ... breathtaking! It echoes my imagination from reading the books. Thank you for putting this together. The music is perfect too - my heart is pounding!

  • For all who are saying Gerry is too old, think about this, Vivien Leigh was 25 when she played Scarlett, & at the beginning of the book she is 16...

My main thing with Gerry is the GREEN eyes!!!...love them, but know it's hard on some people to wear colored contacts & if they stick to the description Jamie is blue eyed...

  • This woman is perfect to play Claire =)

  • BRAVO!! Just now started re-reading the series...My first thought was Gerard Butler for Jamie...So easy to redden up the hair....But please, pray God, they start the movie production before Gerard gets too old. Even now they may need to find a young Jamie, though how I don't know! Great, great video!!

  • Good day.

I really want to know where I can buy the movie. I assume that the clips on YouTube from the movie made? Regards Chari

  • Chari the movie has not been made yet, the clips I have used are from two Gerard Butler movies, Timeline and Beowulf & Grendel.

  • @Teutonlass I believe the author doesn't want there to be any movies - but I can't stop hoping .. nice video ;)

  • Gerard is perfect!!!!!!! The actor doesn't have to be exact exact to the book they never are lets face it. Besides we all have our own imaginations and versions of what Jamie would look like. Lets be practical, so far Gerard Butler is the best to play the part.

  • plz can any one tell me what is that music???

  • the music is from the movie Rob Roy, its called The Reiving, I have edited it a little to fit the vid.

  • Gerard is way too pretty and not nearly big and muscular enough to play Jamie. And yes, Jamie is a REDHEAD.

  • Its a very tall order to fill lol.

  • @Teutonlass

i think Tom Hardy should be Jamie

  • @niglock Gerard himself is a good 6.2' - not much shorter than Jamie Fraser (6.4')

And if he was muscular enough to portray King Leonidas in 300 he can be the Scottish landlord/warrior, too.

He can always dye his hair in a browinish red, for the role......

The only objection about him portraying JF is that he's not getting any younger...alas !

Fortunately, in the last 5 books Jamie is in his 40 so, there's always a chance !

  • @niglock I believe Gerald is to old to play this role. As for the hair, it can be dyed it is show business after all.

  • I love Gerard Butler but Jamie was a REDHEAD

  • Very moving! It makes me long to have that kind of reunion! sniff

  • @teutonlass: thanks a lot for your answer. yes, that helps!

  • What a lovely vid.. So delicate and well done

    Thank you

  • does anyone know the movie that the video is made out of it? or the name of the woman that is claire in the video? thx

  • I used stills from two movies starring Gerry to make this vid. The first movie is Timeline and the actress is Anna Friels, the other stills are from Beowulf. Hope this helps.

  • Sorry guys, I have to disagree. I think if Gerry butler played Jamie it would be a seriously epic fail!!! He's great and everything, but he's too well known. We need more of a 'virgin' ;D to play that virgin... Heh heh... (tasteless sniggering). I would be so disappointed I think I'd have to throw up in my purse... And I love my frickin purse!

Ps when ARE they gonna make the movie??? Women have been crazy for this series for over a decade!!!!

  • This is an absolutely gorgeous video! Gerard Butler is the ultimate Jamie Fraser- ruggedly handsome and I can just picture him quirking that eyebrow at Claire!

  • I don´t understand why a lot of people think Gerry Butler is too old for playing Jamie (ok maybe for the Jamie in the first book) but what about the Jamie when Claire returns?Brianna is around 20 at the time so Jamie is over 40 and everybody will surely know that people for more than 200 years ago looked a lot older than they were ! Even with Claire´s advice to brush the teeth with a branch ;-)!And don´t underestimate what make up artists and colored contact linses can do

  • Nice and good made, thank you!

Hopefully there will be a movie some day, but only it is really good made like ´Lord of the rings`!

  • very nicely done. Funny...someone said below..these books changed their life. Me too. I remembered that I believed in Love. That it may not be easy, it may not always be pretty, nor gentle...but I believe in love.

  • Thank you so much for this video. It makes me cry everytime I watch it. You have done a wonderful job with the music as well,

  • Thank you:)

  • I gotta admit .....I cried when i watched this lol. I'm new to the series and am halfway through Voyager now so this scene from the book is still fresh in my mind. I stayed up and read all night until 6 in the morning when i started this book because i just couldnt put it down until they were back together again lol. Thanks so much for sharing this, I enjoyed it.

  • I LOVED those moments in the book....perfect choice of music

  • Wonderful characters and music to Outlander. I would suppose Diana Gabaldon cherishes this as she creates yet another book. I won't hold my breathe that she would allow the story to go to the cinema. Somehow, that ruins the imagination.

  • ah ha! ok wow thank you so much i finally found it! great job on the video by the way :)

  • thanks, but i still cannot find it? the womans voice on this song is not from that soundtrack - where is it from? theres no records of the Reiving ?

  • @sassenachdf I have checked again and it is also called Rob Roy overture. I have edited this piece to suit my vid, I have started 1:52 into the music, the begining of the song is very different to what you hear on my vid, the girl starts singing @ 2:44. Hope this helps.

  • i cannot find this identical song, i love it - did you put a few songs together for this?? Where can i find it?

I agree a movie would ruin the books! THEY ARE SO FANTASTIC!! :D

  • @sassenachdf

The music is from Rob Roy, its called The Reiving, the composer is Carter Burwell. I have edited it to extend it to match the length of the vid. You can download from sites such as Limewire.

  • Absolutely Gerard Butler as Jamie. Undecided on Claire. What about Christian Bale as Randall (Jack/Frank)?

  • Claire is such a difficult role to fill and I am still searching for the right actress. Christian Bale could do BlackJack but I really like Jason Isaacs for that part.

  • Jason Isaacs would be my pick, as well

  • thank you for the great visual. I so hope that a movie/mini series will happen soon. Jason Isaacs would be my pick as Black Jack/Frank, as well.

  • I also agree with Gerry Butler but Christian Bale as Black Jack doesn't appear "dark" (evil ) enough

  • Aboslutley beautiful production. Thank you. I have my own Jamie and Claire in my mind as everyone does. the characters I see b4 me will never match my imagination but a perfect scene just the same. Thankyou.

P.S - I hoep they never make the movie.

  • Thank you. The movie, when it gets made will not please everyone and like you and so many others I fear it will spoil it if it is cast wrong.

  • I agree with JustaWyomingGirl. When are they making the movie. Come on already!! The series is fantastic. I have read through it at least 3 times and the latest installment did not disappoint.

  • Will they EVER make the movie?!? I've been waiting for years.....

  • this from DG's website

"I don't know about the film rights. Meaning--we had sold an option--to the production company who did The Stand, and who wanted to do a TV mini-series--but their option has expired. They've expressed interest in renewing it, but we now also have a couple of other interested parties, with various suggestions--feature film, BBC-sponsored series, etc. So at the moment, nothing is settled, but stay tuned for further Interesting Developments."

    Just check out her website

  • Just gorgeous! I cried all over the keyboard. Don't you ever wonder why one person has so much talent? When I read this scene for the first time, I had to put the book down and weep. Bless you, Diana Gabaldon.

  • I'm thinking tha casting unknowns would be best, and the audience wouldn't constantly be comparing a known actor, like Butler, to a character that is so important to the movie. If they don't find the right Jamie and Claire- then there's just no point in making the movie. Wouldn't you agree?

  • If they get the casting wrong for the main characters a lot of diehards out there will be bitterly disappointment. Sometimes I think they should leave it alone and let the individual enjoy the books as they see it in their mind.

  • Amen.. Scared they will ruin it.

  • i agree... as much as i would LOVE to see a movie (especially with gerard as jamie) i will be sorely disappointed if i do not agree with the cast...

  • @shareeneff I agree with you, a cast of unknowns would be amazing. These books have changed my life, is that sad :) I hope we are all able to find love, compassion, desire and conpanionship like Jamie and Claire.

  • Thanks for watching and I agree wholeheartedly with your sentiments.

  • @chubbsos I don't find it sad at all! In fact, my husband and I, at times, have used Jamie and Claire's relationship as an example to mirror in our own life. LOL they would have been GREAT marriage counselors!! The love, compassion, respect, commitment and understanding they show to each other is amazing! :)

  • Hell Yeah!!!!!

  • I'll second that!! Seems an absolute age since the last book came out and I really miss the characters.

  • If you get on Diana G. Website, you can read about four excerpts from the new book. Very exciting. I ordered my copy already!!!!

  • I've read thes excerpts but they just made me crave for more lol. thanks.

  • is everyone ready for echo in the bone

  • Very nice^^ I'm almost done with Voyager and this was good and helping me remember the beginning clearly and what I felt

  • Very well done! I love that you used bits from "Timeline" - I luv that film and the chemistry they had together...

  • Ya he fainted and spilled ink on his pants so he took them off, then his assistant walked in, saw him on the floor with her and quit!LoL

  • OMG! OMG! This is SO beautiful. Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for that video, I wish there was a movie soon! Although I really love Gerard Butler, how about Eric Stoltz as Jamie, red-haired and blue-eyed as he is...?

  • This is great! THX for this.

I hope they wil once make a movie. Gerard Butler is the born Jamie Fraser!!! ;-)

  • at the mo ICS176 I agree with you but they'd better hurry up before he gets too old! lol !

  • Ok VERY WELL DONE...this gave me chills!!! Thank you :)

  • I am simply obsessed with this book series and can't get enough of Jamie & Claire!!! It's soooo ..beautiful...the relationship between them !!It's every woman's dream to find a man(love like this)!!!OMG they had better make movies for this book series!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • They are making the movie to this

  • when vnt31 ? It cant be soon enough for me!

  • I am not sure but if you go on amazon and look up her book series they talk about some famous screen writer getting the rights to the story...

  • That was.... snif.... awesome.... sniff. I love these books whish someone would make them into a movie. even just the first one would be fantastic.

  • do yo think that one day, sbdy will finally make the film????

  • I really reallllly hope someone does, I will get down on the foor and thank god when that happens.

  • Actually the film is in the works from what I've read and they will begin production this spring.

  • It it really true?!!!

  • I hope they are but i haven't heard any more about it!!!

  • I'm game for a Showtime or HBO series. However, Randall Scott has written the script for the film, and the only hold up is casting from what I've heard.

  • OK I just finish reading the 4th one so I think this was too much information. :S

  • Love this one! What music did you use?

  • Thankyou. The music is from the movie Rob Roy starring Liam Neeson.

  • wow! I cannot stop re-reading the books i'm like obsessed! Jamie is just... everything a man should be.. everything!

My Favorite book is Voyager and my favorite part is either when they first make love or when they meet againg in Voyager.

  • I'm having Jamie and Clare withdrawals..

Hurry up with the book. ;)

  • Very nicely done.

One of my favourite moments from Voyager, was when she showed him photographs of Briana growing up. Diana Gabaldon is a genius.

  • From head to toe, you should see him in a kilt!!! serious thuddage

  • gerard is scottish!!!!

  • ...and the Pope is catholic !

LOL Sorry, i couldn't resist teasing you !!!

  • this is good i still cant imagie them being so human, you know cause part of the mamazingness is not knowing exactly what they look like but creatin there images yourself since no one i can think of looks like any of them, anyway i think butler would be good, but there is one problem... hes irish!!!

  • Thank you for you comment. Gerard Butler is most definitely Scottish. He was born in Paisley, near Glasgow.

  • I agree wholeheartedly

trinityandfergus, I do enjoy some of GB's work and he's definitely a Scot,I feel All unknowns should be given the parts in the event of a film. All characters should be from the countries as needed to play the parts. I hate my Wife for putting me on to this story...lol I do and have enjoyed this book.

  • Beautiful work...you portrayed them well...I CANNOT WAIT FOR AN OUTLANDER MOVIE!!! I am hooked on the Series and cannot put it down! I recently visited Scotland and this brings back many wonderful memories and this love story is awesome...reminds me of a '1700's... 24' It is riveting! Thanks for your hard work!

  • are they actually making a movie?? or is this just a 'what if'?? if they ARE making a movie, does anyone know when its due to come out??

  • There is no movie as yet there are only rumors at the moment that DG is considering it.

  • well, thats awesome. she better agree cuz as soo as i finished outlander, i imagined it as a movie.

  • Lovely video! Love the quotes from the book.

  • They should be about 45 / 50 years old ...

  • what is the name of this movie? seems good.

  • This is a vid I made inspired by the Outlander series of books by Diana Gabaldon.

  • thanks for your comments I'm glad you enjoy watching them as much as I do making them.

  • The music definitely makes this a winner. Thanks for sharing it. =D Lisa
