2/2 simply a lot of Judo so.called "masters" ignore or simply avoid these techniques because are considered lethal and non-sportive.
My two cents?
A boxer doesn't stand a chance against a grappler, sambo or Judo.
brazilian Ju Jutsu is a excellent martial arts, but when it is teached to a young practicioner it is fully exploited, using since the beginning the most lethal moves.
I'd say Judo i deadlier on the long term, BJJ gives you what you immediatly need.
you can do judo throw on a shirtless opponent: replace the sleeve with a wrist hold and the other hand behind the opponent neck, as if you were doing a a choke.
It doesn't matter the place WHERE you catch the opponent, the principle of judo is to put him out of balance using your entire body.
There are no REAL Judokas in the world because Judo is full of chokes, arm and leg bars that are far away more deadly than brazialian Ju Jutsu.
The principle of judo throw involves kuzushi, or breaking balance, by pushing or pulling that tip off opponent's balance. You can't get good kuzushi if the opponent is not wearing a shirt. just my observation.
(2/3) they fail because they obviously do not practice judo consistently. a ufc competitor obviously cannot do uchikomi(which means the constant repetition of a judo throw) or cannot study judo(jigoro kano, the founder of judo says that judo is not only a physical excersise, but a mental one) to broaden his understanding in the principles of judo to futher prefect a takedown, because he is too busy practicing other martial arts so inconsistently. so the ufc fighter does judo for a few months,
(3/3) and adds judo onto his repitoire when he did not even commit fully to judo. but people like akiyama, who has been a judoka when he was at a very young age, had a very full and broad understanding of judo and would unleash it in prize fighting. but you obviously win some lose some. this is the reason why judo seems so ineffective in prize fighting, because the practitioner does not fully commit to judo. your perception on martial arts is stifled by ufc, therefore make yourself seem stupid
Let's say you are at the beach, and some idiot tries to pick a fight with you. The guy is big, shirt less and sweaty. I don't know if judo is useful against a shirt less guy.
and i bet you can't throw a big, muscular guy who took off his shirt, and is sweaty and oily. judo is useless against naked guy. there is nothing to grab.
do you do judo? if you dont, then please be quiet. if you do why dont you study a little deeper? i know a sensei who was a pow in vietnam. judo saved him from getting killed.
@PooJiraiya Sorry I am not disrespecting judo, I only wanted to know if it's possible to throw a topless guy. How do you execute a judo throw when your opponent is shirt less? You can't! You will get your ass kicked!
@nicechineseguy how do you know that? have you tried? my guess is no, you havent. or if you even did try, you probably looked up on youtube how to do a judo throw and tried to execute it on a shirtless opponent without any training or understanding in the sport. so how can you even judge a sport when i assume you havent even tried it?
@PooJiraiya If you watch Vale Tudo / Ultimate Fighting Championship / K-1 , judo fighters rarely win because most MMA fighters don't wear judogi (traditional judo uniform) and are topless, their body is oily and sweaty, that puts judo fighter in disadvantage position. It's really hard to execute judo move when your opponent is not wearing a shirt. This is not to say that judo is an ineffective martial art, but I think it has its limitations.
(1/3)please do not measure a martial arts effectiveness in its use in ufc fights or any other prize fighting. it seems you judge a martial arts effective in prize fights, which is complete bullshit. and to add to that, do not forget that groundwork is just as important as the takedowns in judo. but i will admit that judo is not that effective in prize fighting, because of the practitioner. i rarely watch prize fighting, but when i do, when the competitors try to do a judo takedown they fail,
(4/3) again, i told you about how judo kept a vietnam pow until help arrived. he was a lifelong practitioner whos level in judo was very high with both a mental and physical understanding, it didnt even matter if the opponent was clothed or unclothed. had he practiced judo like a ufc competitor who just practices the "important parts" in the art, he would have surely been killed.
@PooJiraiya I think it's hard for a smaller guy to throw a fat guy. Isn't there weight divisions in Judo(like boxing)? The rule is set up this way to make competition fair, as bigger opponent can easily over power smaller one.
@PooJiraiya of course when the proportions are like really way off, it is hard. like a 55 kg guy trying to throw a 110+ kg guy, that would be reaally hard.
If u work on strength one punch can knock out your opens I've done it in all 4 fights I've been in

I had a lot of trouble learning that throw. My biggest problem was keeping my back straight.
