i dont believe this cars engine is really a cross between an m5 v10 and a carrera gt v10, i believe its a cross between a carrera gt engine and a formula 1 engine!
@MrHandsomeguy007 It's not different than any other super car. McLaren SLR, Carrera GT, Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari 599 GTO. They all cost more and are only slightly faster.
to be honest im not entirely sure the car justifies the price...carrera gt sure but this...not so much. if you have money laying around then yes its a good car and the noise is amazing...of course for less money you could get the same noise and more car with a preowned carrera gt. as for performance...well im assuming the 2012 GTR will top it in most every aspect.
very true...about 1200 carrera GTs were made so about twice as less exclusive you can say...im not saying its not a great car...i think its fantastic, but its for specific people i believe.

LFA is not a supra!! it is toyota's version of a SUPER CAR, while the supra was a SPORTS CAR. if you want to relate the old supra to a newer toyota i would say the lexus ISF would be the closest thing honestly.

@Baddassattuide dude audi's have great engineering... the R8 costs 150 almost maxed out wit the 5.2 liter v10 and it hold ground against the lfa...it won two races lost two races..kept even and held its own weight....for 250,000 less ill take an r8 becuase regardless the thing is a MACHINE...engineering is excellent...the LFA isn't meant to last long...you dont drive it every day.. i doubt it would last 2 years of driving every day like u would a honda

@hairlesheep False. Not even close to being like a Celica on steriods. Celica had a 2.2L and was FWD. This has a 4.8L V10 and is RWD. A Celica on steroids would just have something like the 3.5 that's in the Camry. What is awesome about this car is that it can keep up with the likes of the Ferrari 599 and such company. Not only that, but it does it with a V10 motor that is smaller than a V8 and weighs less than the Lexus 3.5 V6. It's a fine engineering specimen. It's expensive as all hell though

@mustang8258 Wow... you really don't know a damn thing about cars. Both the 240SX and Skyline R33 GTS-T are NISSAN products. And both my engines can handle big power on stock components. The SR20DET is pushing 388whp on STOCK internals. The RB can hold 1200+ HP on the stock block. Same with the Toyota 2JZ. Toyota isn't junk, they haven't really put much development into a sports car for a while, but some of the most iconic cars of the 80's and 90's came from Toyota. I'm no fan, but just fatcs.

@untouchabledriver87 Yep I to am aware of that rotary motor but the big difference between that and 1LR-GUE is that this is a motor developed at the track for a road car where as that Rotory motor you have mentioned as good as it was probably was never going to make it into a road car and was strictly a race motor.
@suprastar2 Well, the only real differences is that it's ported MUCH bigger than a street engine for proper flow, bigger fuel delivery system, oil injection is deleted, and that's mainly it. Given I'm sure they upgrade the rotors to ceramic coated, but that's any race application. My 20B is found in the Japanese Cosmo. But, that's also no race engine. Still, with a few small tweaks, they are VERY reliable. :) Think of the 7MGTE haha. Good power, but can lose it's head. lol Small tweaks fix it.:)

@Toyeboy89 Why dont you go watch the Top gear review of the ZR1. All Corvettes have is a big engine, no engineering or thought was put into any Corvette except for the 1963 Corvette Stingray. Literally the only good Corvette. Now they complete junk piles of plastic and glue. I wouldnt buy this car, but if you would rather have a ZR1 over a V10 R8, or a Noble, you need to go to hell.

@Baddassattuide dude audi's have great engineering... the R8 costs 150 almost maxed out wit the 5.2 liter v10 and it hold ground against the lfa...it won two races lost two races..kept even and held its own weight....for 250,000 less ill take an r8 becuase regardless the thing is a MACHINE...engineering is excellent...the LFA isn't meant to last long...you dont drive it every day.. i doubt it would last 2 years of driving every day like u would a honda

@hairlesheep False. Not even close to being like a Celica on steriods. Celica had a 2.2L and was FWD. This has a 4.8L V10 and is RWD. A Celica on steroids would just have something like the 3.5 that's in the Camry. What is awesome about this car is that it can keep up with the likes of the Ferrari 599 and such company. Not only that, but it does it with a V10 motor that is smaller than a V8 and weighs less than the Lexus 3.5 V6. It's a fine engineering specimen. It's expensive as all hell though

The gtr is not better. its slower and its all wheel drive. and the price must not be to bad seeing how production started this month and there already sold out. theres only 500 ever being built and 400,000k is far short of the 650,000 for the enzo. its there first supercar and they did a damn good job.

Parts are going to be a BIOTCH to find and really expensive. C). Ok... that 10,000 RPM V10 has a very beautiful sound BUT is it reliable like the other supercars out there? Hmm... lol P.S. Speaking of Ferrari, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on an original 1962 Ferrari GTO. :)

I would say that my RB25DET would be up there, but they're too damn expensive to build! lol Just to get to my 712RWHP with my R33, I've spent $16,000. Not to mention the damn car cost me another $18,500+tax/title/registration/importing. Fun to drive, not fun to own. lol Let's not even get started on insurance rates. lol If I could re-do it. @mustang8258 Wow... you really don't know a damn thing about cars. Both the 240SX and Skyline R33 GTS-T are NISSAN products. And both my engines can handle big power on stock components. The SR20DET is pushing 388whp on STOCK internals. The RB can hold 1200+ HP on the stock block. Same with the Toyota 2JZ. Toyota isn't junk, they haven't really put much development into a sports car for a while, but some of the most iconic cars of the 80's and 90's came from Toyota. I'm no fan, but just fatcs.

@untouchabledriver87 Yep I to am aware of that rotary motor but the big difference between that and 1LR-GUE is that this is a motor developed at the track for a road car where as that Rotory motor you have mentioned as good as it was probably was never going to make it into a road car and was strictly a race motor.

@suprastar2 Well, the only real differences is that it's ported MUCH bigger than a street engine for proper flow, bigger fuel delivery system, oil injection is deleted, and that's mainly it. Given I'm sure they upgrade the rotors to ceramic coated, but that's any race application. My 20B is found in the Japanese Cosmo. But, that's also no race engine. Still, with a few small tweaks, they are VERY reliable. :) Think of the 7MGTE haha. Good power, but can lose it's head. lol Small tweaks fix it.:)
