The Palestinian economy was robust on income from Israeli jobs & commerce. There was free movement in both directions across the Green Line.

They're supported by the population, because Fatah and its corrupt and inept leadership have failed to deliver Palestinians from occupation. At the end of the day Israel has two options--it can grant palestinians their right to an independent state on all of the West Bank, Gaza Strip and E. Jerusalem OR Israel can absorb all the Palestinians over whom they rule.
