THIS SONG IS FROM AREA OF TILLIRIA(THE TURKS GET THIS PLACE)
so you are telling us that is a turkish song with the title "yodeling". If you really believe that then why you dont write for us to see the meanining of the lyrics? (since it is in your language I guess you know the meaning lololol)
But unfortunately for you it is written in Greek language so you dont understand a thing as a Turkish
No that is NOT what i'm saying. What I'm saying is that the "vereve, varava" is a type of singing and it's called YODELING (singing characterized by obvious shifts in registration.)
Your friend above was trying to say that the Greek Cypriots sang the song this way so that the Turkish Cypriots wouldn't understand which is utter RUBBISH!
By the way, the Turkish Cypriot version of this song is also about the Dillirga (Tylliria) region of Cyprus. The song is about the villages, people, flowers and hills of Dillirga. It also talks about the village girls who put flowers in their hair etc...
It was made so the authorities couldnt understand it, they did it in many cypriot songs, not so the turkish cypriot couldnt understand it (they could) but so authoritiec couldnt a tradition from the ottomon empire.
can i get an english translations

As the little star in Pleiads (seven 'planets'), thus your words touched my heart, beautiful girl!
(verses sometimes change topic, when sung in front of a variety of persons)
Some said to the crazy girl that I wouldn't visit her,
and she charmed the sea causing strong wind
