  • I've been wanting a King V. How you likey?

  • i like your shirt..-.- your guitar skills as well-.- \m/

  • love the a7xshirt dude \m/ \m/

  • really nice guitar

  • patron

  • like it!!

  • Video should be called "the sound of a car accident"

  • @NickPowersMusic Did you listen to the video? Have you heard a car accident?

  • Nice pants!

  • My ears just had an orgasm.

  • is it just me or theres a cat doing 'mmmmmmmmmmmrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr' around mic during all of the video?

  • ok folks, and now some music^^

  • At least he's a snazzy dresser.

  • crap

  • sounds cool!

  • So many haters on youtube...

  • I don't think we should judge the guy (especially negatively) he's just playing and having some fun. I mean, seriously. Besides (breaking my own rule here) it wasn't that bad.

  • Jacob from Lost?

  • note to self never shred guitar on camera while chillin in my pjs

  • fuck the shirt, check out dem jammies

  • A7X shirt!!! <3

  • nice guitar and that was some sick sweeps dude keep shreddin man :D

Ah, the notes... Work on your left hand acuraccy and you'll sure be a shred monster soon.

Wait, this video is a year old. Are you already great then? xD

    lol

  • Waiting for the smooth part...still waiting....40 seconds in and not yet...any second now I'm sure the smooth part will kick in...here we go...nope that wasn't it...it's over?

  • ? sweep picking is for people who dont know how to pick properly

  • @crazyacesSYSTEM theres no proper way to pick

  • @megalon99 ???? thats like saying its ok to take the easy way out of things.. its there for you but are you willing to do stoop to that level of skill? to "sellout halfmark"

its the "mime" of guitar picking ... phony and no one likes it

  • @crazyacesSYSTEM Petrucci uses sweep picking, he must be a terrible guitarist.

  • @runningwithdeath must be, ive never herd of him

  • @crazyacesSYSTEM What?! I'm not even touching that one, I leave you to the sharks.

  • @crazyacesSYSTEM You've really never heard of John Pretrucci? Seriously? Ok then how about Buckethead, Paul Gilbert, Yngwie Malmsteen, and Jeff Loomis, plus many more famous guitarists, they all incorporate both high speed alternate picking licks and sweeping into their playing.... In fact the most "correct" way to pick is called "economy picking" and is a combination of the two. Though, it's obvious you haven't been playing for very long, or you would already know this.

  • @FlipFF its funny you would say that, i have been playing olny 3 years, but i know one thing is forshure. none of those people started playing lead and solos right away, they had started with basics, you need to be a good rhythm player to be a good lead

  • @crazyacesSYSTEM This is true, I will give you that, but that has no relevance to the point I was making. You said that sweep picking is for people who can't pick correctly I simply stated that was not true, and that, in fact, it was the opposite.

  • Are you really happy with how this sounds?

  • ther should be a musicians option on youtube : have you played guitar for more than 10 years , no.

You have now been banned from loading any video ever again.

  • The start reminded me of a section from the solo to The Shortest Straw by Metallica ._.

  • nice pants fag

  • sweet sweeps man, and love the jackson v, but I think you need to use some more trem, you've got it, use if for some squeeles, or dive bombs, DIVE BOMBS ARE THE SHIT

  • needs more cowbell.

  • @guitardood666 lmfao I was just listening to Dont Fear The Reaper before this video!!!lmfao

  • Nothing that wrong with this really but work on the bends... NEEDED :L But it's decent :)

  • Comment removed

  • dude pls try to palm notes at sweeping

  • Pretty good man i wish i could play as fast as that. \m/

  • I don't know why this video has so many dislikes?

  • @ThrashEagle It was not smooth

  • lovin the pjs ^_^

  • Sick playing, but those trousers are kind of offensive to the eyes.

  • i love your guitar

  • This sounds like The Hive by In Flames

  • an unfourtunate pair of trousers

  • @OSKARWH1998 I happen to think that their smashing!

  • @OSKARWH1998 funny way to put it lol

  • dude stop picking on your 24th fret

  • can you smoke alot of weed?

  • Bits and pieces sounded like random fumblings haha, but the majority of it was well done. XD

  • looks like someone else got ahold of the guitar techniques issue with christophe godin's sweep picking lesson too 0:24-0:31

  • You Look just like Jesse Eisenberg "Columbus" From Zombieland..lol Nice Sweeps Though :)

  • Nice technique dude!

  • why has this got 68 dislikes?? only 3 people can say this is crap and thats buckethead, paul gilbert and chuck norris.

  • Your pants dude, your pants....

  • I used to play guitar like this.....til I took an arrow ro the knee

  • Cool :D

  • @RandomMetalGuy666 Yeah, your videos don't support your claim. My teacher has a degree in music and has been playing for over 35 years, since he's seven. I'd like to see you teach him. Anyone who is of working age or older can afford lessons of that caliber. I go to school and I'm still able to easily pay for my lessons every month. So it's nobody elses fault if somebody is too lazy to find an at least semi-decent teacher.

  • i want your guitaaaaaaarrrrrrrrr :(

  • I used to crack pjs like these guys below then I took an arrow to the knee.

  • Nice pj's

  • @blackbloodandbruises i use to make jokes about taking arrows to the knee but then i took a vagina to the penis :p

  • @kgp227 Liar.

  • i used to be able to sweep pick than i took an arrow to the nee

  • Hi can anyone clarify my questions? I seen many sweep picking videos where the thumbs protrudes out of the neck, kinda like gripping it when sweeping, I have tried but it is very uncomfortable for me. However when i try putting my thumb behind(like in this video), it is easier but it doesnt ring that cleanly.

1)Which method is the right one?

2)If not, which should i adopt?

3)Are there methods to improve on the "cleanliness" of my picking?

  • @BkkCheesepie Technically speaking, the best, most "professional", optimal way to play is by never removing the fleshy part of your thumb from the back of the neck under any circumstances. Wrapping your thumb around the top of the neck is done either a) just for show or b) because the player is self-taught or did not receive proper instruction.

It is still possible to play well otherwise. Many of the "pros" do it. But if you want to accelerate your learning and optimize your playing... Don't.

  • @BkkCheesepie 1: the right method is the one that suits you theres really no right or wrong aslong as it sounds like its supposed to 2: N/A 3 methods..practice it realy slow most people will say to use a metronome but...i never used one..and still dont i reccomend using your neck pickup for sweeps (and shredding) theres not enough characters left for me to explain deeper into the theory side but...hope this helped..

  • Wow.

  • @FriendsMusicLove Also, I too agree that patience is important. however, speaking for myself (and myself only), I find that the amount of effort I put in is number one, and learning what to put my effort into is number two, in importance. Third most important for me would be patience/perseverance, definitely. For me that's true because I had a lot of patience in the past, but I still never got anywhere with what I practiced. I mean, I gained a lot in that time period, but I could've gotten a lo

  • @FriendsMusicLove I can't read sheet

music either. I know a little, a very very little, but that's it.

  • @BER2ERKER ive played guitar for 12 years and NEVER had lesson and i dont want to toot my own horn but i can just about anyone i come in contact with on the instrument. its all about patience.

  • But can you play smoke on the water?

  • @TKGoat LMFAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DEAD

  • @TKGoat of course he can!

  • @TKGoat that song sucks

  • @TKGoat I like how everyone took this joke seriously haha

  • @VaileZildejen Word lol

  • @TKGoat stolen from a comment on impossible guitar, btw my friend is the one who made that comment

  • tab ?

  • @Canonjac I don't get why you said that, but that's cool. If I could give you one piece of advice as a player who for over a decade played covers and not much else, it would be to take lessons from a good teacher (an affordable one of course, lessons are actually pretty cheap 90% of the time). Go to the Tom Hess website and read his articles, and watch him play on YouTube. Not for his lessons, but as a great guide for guitar players. Also, I would start practicing some type of alternate pickin

  • Chuck Norris knows Victoria's Secret

  • @GamersDemos LMAO bro..I literally spit my food out laughing my arse off when i read your comment...XD

  • @GamersDemos chuck norris knows the one true reilgoin.

  • But does it blend?

  • AWFUL bending... ugh.

  • HAHAHAH I heard DETHKLOK in there!

  • @suckit69er what're you like Charlie

sheen? I just pick it up and succeed dude

  • @suckit69er That's the stupidest thing

I possibly have ever seen. You just pick

it up and succeed. Pure ignorance on music and guitar playing.

  • @suckit69er Yngwie by the age of five was taking music lessons for piano and trumpet and grew up with an artist for a mother who bought him a guitar when he was seven. Again, a great example of the main reason why I believe good lessons are invaluable: the importance of theory and understanding music, which cannot be miraculously thought up on your own. Yeah you just pick it up and succeed. Worst reply I've seen yet.

  • @fasthandmicky If horse shit means I'm way better than I've been in thirteen years, then please give me more horse shit. I do like horse shit then. Also, a tiny shape here and there isn't a little thing, you couldn't have learned that from yourself. So, throw out everything you've been taught or have read and see what you know then. But yes, horse shit I know.

  • @fasthandmicky If you taught yourself chords/arpeggios, scales and modes, phrasing, knowing key, playing in key and resolve, aural skills, great practice routines, how and what to play over chords, harmonies, knowledge on sweeping and tapping, a dozen more examples and the many things included within each of these categories, then cool. I wasn't so gifted as to teach myself these things. If horse shit means I'm way better than I've been in thirteen years, then please give me more horse shit. I

  • @DrOhReally Yeah that's a big advantage for us, today. But personally, I would

consider that learning from an outside source still. It's like free lessons pretty much. But, yeah that's true. I still think personal lessons from a *good* teacher are extremely helpful though. Even so, I still use the Internet for a lot of things. Its great for certain things, but you do have to sift through a lot of crap sometimes. YouTube, if you find the right people, is very helpful.

  • @lolzy44 Of course there are, I was just referring out the advantages of being taught. If somebody can learn theory, phrasing, improvisation, aural skills, etc without being taught how then that's great.

  • What kind of Jackson is that its badass?

  • @oddworldhomiee its a jackson king KV2 usa guitar i believe

  • @D3V1LMACH1N3 Yeah blow me troll

  • Btw not a bad video lol

  • I never had a lessen in my life and I can cover Miles of Machine by Jeff Loomis.

I'm not saying I'm the best or anything but if you just want to play your type of music and play a few shows lessens really aren't needed. Its all about dedication

  • In his PJ's.

  • @ArseLoad0fMetal666 Yeah that's true. That's a good analogy. I think I meant more so with theory. You can't teach yourself literally the arpeggio itself, well unless you know scales and chords.

  • Are you in Pajamas?

  • I was self taught for like 6 years or more, and when I took lessons, the only thing I needed to be taught was the theory because its a bit hard to comprehend from nowhere, especially when your playing is way far into the theory. My technique was great, I had complex techniques down, and I never took lessons up until that point. If ya dont have that fire in yer belly....

  • Everyone who plays music uses theory, whether they know it or not. In my opinion, theory is more for the improvisational musician, if you never need to improv, well, self taught is just fine. But if you want to reach the upper limits of guitarring, then theory is a damn good idea, to at least understand what it is youre playing and what goes well with it. Anything besides that is just trial and error. Lessons also force you to practice if you stick with them, its no miracle.

  • He can't afford Patron lol.

  • @richogem no it's not. I doubt you play, or else you'd likely understand it

  • @nugent321 I never said there weren't great self taught players. Jimi Hendrix was mostly self taught and he's one of the most famous players of all time. What I am saying, as factual, is that guitar players who take lessons or go to school progress are way better off. Listen to Tom Hess, Michael Romeo, Chris Broderick, Christian Muenzner, Paul Gilbert, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, etc etc. The difference between Kerry King and Tom Hess is very clear.

  • Wats so bad about it?

  • Crap

  • Nice Patron Tequila trousers ya got there...

  • i hate when noobs have expensive gear and i dont and i play good

  • @MatKiller1197 nah you just suck... post a video of you doing better and then you can talk shit

  • @fortyfiveden nah fuck you i hate sweeps i love shredding sweeping sucks

  • @MatKiller1197 haha dont blame ya im trying to learn how to do this shit good.... not having a successful day

  • Can you pick a fucking scale please?

  • you can't teach yourself how to play in key, on time, scales, arpeggios, chords, how music works, and how everything intertwines. being "self taught" isn't a badge of honor, it's the opposite. this dude, if he didn't take lessons, at least looked the shit up; he didn't teach himself arpeggios and sweeping. Self taught means self taught, and it's not good in the music world.

  • the guy that compared skating to guitar is an idiot. I skated my whole life... it's not something that can be taught (to a degree maybe); while guitar is something completely different. I played for years without lessons and got NOWHERE. Lessons, especially knowledge on theory, is priceless when learning the guitar. In one year of lessons I can play fifty times better than years of playing without lessons.

  • @BER2ERKER right. absolutely right.

  • @BER2ERKER thats a stupid point of view

  • @BER2ERKER Zacky V didn't have lessons....The guitarist from Red hot chilli peppers didn't either...Slayer don't know any theory and say they prefer it that way....Just saying.

  • @nugent321 slayer does use theory actually. theyre big on diminished, harmonic minor, and all the modes

  • @MetalMarvels DIMINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol

  • @BER2ERKER i play guitar and skate and i actually find loads of similarities between it, on a pure technical level really. Trying to learn how to sweep is EXACTLY like learning your first trick kick flip, no one can teach you it cuz u just have to keep trying and practicing

  • @BER2ERKER I'm not gonna lie, when I skateboarded and played guitar I found a lot of similarities between them.

  • @BER2ERKER You're a tard dude. I'm nothing but an independent learner when it comes to the guitar. Haven't had a lesson in the 11 years that I have played, and I shred. If you played for years without lessons and got NOWHERE it was because you suck, and put absolutely no effort into routine practice and learning the concepts on your own.

  • @BER2ERKER that's only how you learn to play. keep in mind that there are many different ways of learning.

  • @BER2ERKER as long as you are not tone deaf and have a good sense of rhythm, everything you need can be found on the web :)

  • @BER2ERKER

Sorry dude, thats absolute horseshite. I've never had a guitar lesson in my life and I can find my way around a fretboard no problem. All I did was find songs I like, get the tab and practice. Pretty much nothing else at all, except occasionally my mates showing me a new shape or something, or maybe copying something I see on youtube like divebombs for example. thats about it though >.<

  • @BER2ERKER Not even remotely true. Malmsteen was self taught, as were countless other shredders like Jeff Loomis. It is the same as skateboarding. You pick it up, and if your dedicated and not entirely stupid you succeed.

  • @BER2ERKER I've been playing guitar for 4 months with no lessons. I have some covers on youtube.

  • @BER2ERKER I dont take lessons and i can sweep better than the tool in this video

  • @BER2ERKER Not necessarily. I'm the opposite, I can't grasp reading music. I've played piano for 3 years without a single lesson but can play to a grade 7 standard plus I compose my own music. It's down to the individuals skill and talent and the ability to interpret and learn just as much as any lesson, and some things you can only learn and develop by yourself. I agree with xthexupwardxfallx, it's all about patience.

  • @BER2ERKER But altho i can see your saying in lessons are important and in a years time with lessons you can go far (Just look at rusty cooley after 1 year of lessons from 1st picking up his guitar he stole his guitar teachers job!)

But there are amazing guitarists that are self taught..... Not that im saying im amazing I think im shit haha... but alot of people say im good... and im 100% self taught so I guess its just weither you want to or not haha

  • @123justincredible usually people that say you're good suck at music - i get the I'm good comments but that's because they don't know much about music - you can blow their mind by playing "enter sandman" by metallica or some stupid riffs like that..anyways don't know of many self taught musicians(beside hendrix - by technically no one if self taught - as you ALWAYS learn from someone else - i guarantee nobody sat in their empty room and just plucked away for hours w/out hearing any music at all.

  • @RedneckChexMix This is true... But normally Its not when i play something simple or basic such as enter sandman... Throw some Chilrden of Bodom their way hahaha :P

  • @RedneckChexMix so true, i know what you mean. it could always be explained with that learning curve when people first start playing. i don't know if it's just me, but i find it easier to learn more advanced material now that i've been playing for some time (despite aforementioned material being proportionally more difficult) then when i first started playing.

  • @BER2ERKER i got 3 real lessons my whole life...then i ended up teaching my teacher....

  • @RandomMetalGuy666 I totally believe this reliable fact

  • please delete this disgracing and wash the shame off of your hands then kill yourself

  • is this the jackson js32?

  • @TheUberguitar123 hahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahah

  • @givemeajackson what?

  • @TheUberguitar123 that guitar costs 5 times the price of a js32, thats a kv 2! (and it's really hard to see the top comment, i know) you see that it has 1 knob more, a blade switch instead of a toggle, open coil pickups, a neck binding, black tuners... c'mon, you can see that this ain't a js by the first look!

  • I made a sweeping vid the other day out of nowhere, but the tone sounds pretty bad haha. Nice playing.

  • how long have you been playing?

  • PATRON!!!
