I wish they would open every one of there concerts with this piece of music,it must have been ace to hear this first before they take the stage.Simple Minds forever!!
Hooya ! This is why I love my country, The St Andrews flags are flying high from Edinburgh and Stirling castles with the rampant lion fllying with the Hampden ROAR ! i love playing this track when im coming into Edinburgh Waverley.
Takes me back to Meadowbank stadium. On the same gig were The Silencers and Texas. They played this with the thunder n lightning and the rain falling an awesome start to an awesome concert. One of the best live bands I've ever seen.
@frankschlanker....me too mate, came straight from Tynecastle, got a fish supper and went up onto Arthurs seast for a wee while looking into the stadium having a few shandies .Then went down in time to see Texas ...i think?? The Silencers supported them loads of times
They opened the gigs with this track. They played it behind a big curtain which dropped as they came on stage. It always runs shivers down my spine and a tear to my eye as it reminds me I'm twenty years older now..
