@dragonridley I live in NC and most times the warning is late in the evening into the night. I can remember the one warning in 2005 at night. The wind was up high and me and my 5 year old stood in the door and we rebuked the storm like Jesus did in the Bible, thanked God for HIS protection and went to bed in peace. People were talking about the damage done in their neighborhoods but nothing happened in ours, plus we still had power. You know just the thought of a tornado happening is scary...
yeah i live in colorado and i remember the EF-4 that hit windsor i saw that it was the biggest tornado i have ever seen yet.... but also when i was driving to indiana going through nebraska we saw i tornado form, it was small though but still kinda scary....
if you live in an tornado area and build your house out of wood or other similar weak junk you're and IDIOT the same goes for the people that builds combustible in an area of wild fires ...WHAT YOU EXPECT?

If I choose to stick my hand in a fire, will you feel bad for me? Those people CHOOSE to live in a place named "tornado alley". It's like living in the southern california hills and being suprised when your house burns down. Or living in san francisco with an earthquake or canada when it's freezing cold.
stupid comment. I live in canada. yeah its cold in the winter....not that bad. at least I dont have to worry about getting killed by a gun. we have tornadoes here too, every summer....
You are so right. I chase and film these storms, a very small percentage of them do the massive damage that people see on the news. Fact is most of them don't even take out houses or other buildings. I moved from N.C. to Oklahoma. In Raliegh, N.C. we had an F-4 tornado which traveled 82 miles on the ground on Nov 28, 1988. The southeast doesn't get as many, but those Autumn and Winter tornadoes always seem to be F-3 and up. They always seem to happen at night, can't see them coming.
Western PA is no stranger to tornadoes either. Everyone in my county talks about an F4 that killed 12 during an outbreak in 1985. Strangely there's much less mention of the F5 that happened just 2 counties away.
was the F5 tornado in PA the one that was videoed? If I remember right the person filming it or somebody next to that person was saying "look at the paper, look at all the paper flying around." But what that person thought was paper was actually debris from apartments or houses being torn up. It's been a while since I've seen that video. But I can't remember if that was the F5 or the F4. I've seen so many vids now I can't even count them any more. I waitn 4 the 2010 chase season. I luv chasing.
I found another stat on N.C. tornadoes. I found out that N.C. has the highest percentage when it comes to night time tornadoes. Not the highest number but highest percentage for anyone else reading this reply and comment to dragonridley.
what kind of comment is that? whoever it might have killed?? hmm ok I guess as long as a tornado looks cool it's okay if people are hurt???? mm wait NO

That is a really ignorant comment. Name a place in the world that isn't susceptible to some sort of natural disaster...

Everywhere has some sort of risk for a natural disaster...

Even in tornado alley the chances of a tornado hitting any particular place are low.

It was the F5.
There ere 6 F4's that day.
dragonridley 2 years ago
The reason they seem to be F3 and up is that weaker tornadoes don't make big news as much.
