If you want to practice palm muting I suggest you to practice with the rhytm part of Seek & Destroy from metallica. it's not that hard and its a good practice song if you're a begginer. I did it and I can tell you I'm playing better than When I was a beginner. :)

Is it normal not to be able to palm mute all the strings without shifting my palm? I can only do the bottom 4, and after that they start to loose the sound.
