1 dislike and it's from me. I am reading your ebook and have just viewed your two tutorial and i don't like your way of approaching people. It's creepy.
Thomas I must admit that you do make some nice photos but here in North America quick shot candids as you do could have your nose broken along with your camera.. nice work just keep your running shoes on!
The eternal cry of the most anally retentive photographer. This man treats the people he photographs (and they are people) as objects, not subjects, who exist only so he can bestow them with his gaze. A really creepy person.
Honestly I think this kind of shooting is very inpolite and intimidating. But I think it's okay the way you do it as long as you feel comfortable with what you're doing. Keep on shooting!
The eBook is like the field manual for how to be a shady douchebag. The main point of it is that street photography is fun, it's a way of life, there's no money in it... yet you need to aggressively market yourself and slave away at it for some reason.
Well, frankly, I think this is really "stealing" a shot, and I think it is offending behaviour that discredits other photographers. If at least you talked to that person afterwards or showed him his picture it would be ok.
You;re right. In some part is better to ask the person and do it with some respect, after all, not everybody see this the way street photographer do. But by the other hand people gets cranky and don't like cameras; and actually, it's perfectly legal in public space.
@Puddi77 if you see his real work you wouldn't be saying that, because if you talk to someone they make you delete the photo, great or not most likely they'll make you delete it. And if your really think pro street photographers actually talk to subjects afterwards, that's just crazy
@idkmybffjv my point is most street photographers don't and yes you can be a pro street photographer or at least photographer who makes a living that way. People don't act the same if you ask for a picture, and by the time you ask the image you wanted is gone. its all based on what you prefer. If your in a public space its legal
This is quite funny because the photographer does not normally see the reaction of the subject after they took a shot - I certainly tend to keep walking rather than find out!
just because you take a photo in the street and convert it to black and white dose not make you a street photographer.
you haven't captured anything special about this man or any candid moment
just another kid with a camera calling yourself a street photographer polluting this world with poor images.

Honestly, in both these videos you look _way the fuck_ sketchier when you drop the camera and walk away than if you'd tried to be stealthy.

@Anthony77769 Pro street photographers? Street photography is a profession now, god damn!
Some street photographers do talk to their subject afterwards. See Jamal Shabazz.
