Most quotes are of the philosophical nature of science being mathematically expressed (which Newton layed the foundation for). As for Newton's quote, it comes from William of Occam's razor. Most are brilliant quotes, except for Nietszche, that guy was crazy.I'm glad you put Kurt Godel up there, he's rarely known but such a great mind.
You're missing some people like plato, Aristotle, Locke, Kant, Aquinas, Augustine, or Planck.
moonlight sonata in the background GREAT CHOICE. as for religon ha ha to steal a quote from homer simpson "the cause of and solution to all of mans problems"
It's all in all a good movie, but yeah, there seems to be a lack of Aristotle or Socrates... You also seemed to be missing at least one great man from the age of reason like Locke or one that developed human law/rights.
How could you leave out Yogi Berra?

Belief in science , is to possibly reject a self evident truth.
All but one question is formulated following something being told.
The single question that is the root of all questions , is "What is true?"
Everything that Rene Descartes knew as a fact or belief , was disbelieved , for the sake of finding what is really true.
He left reality to find truth , and he almost did.
A real philosopher starts with "What is real" and works his way up , without support from anything other than his self.

@MasonicEyes What do both of you define as ... wisdom...? This little debate totally depends on what you define as wisdom.

Hey cincynattifanmp,
You stated " Religion is a false sense of hope in which man finds comfort"
So," religion is a true sense of hope in which man finds discomfort"
Please revise your statement carefully!

I love you videos nawitus. You are a thinker, but I'll add a quote
"Religious people almost invariably arrive at their beliefs not on the basis of fact, put by the lack thereof"

@DeavenMorris24:
Bad quote. Most of the people quoted here were religious...

commentators here seem to miss the point of these quotations, who have a very rational link to each other. I liked it very much.
