I was actually able to defeat Max with 2 CP points left using Awaken Potential and Neutralize, instead of Defense Boost and Penetrate - thanks for the strategy though

I was wondering. What was your roster at the last battle? All 17 characters.

@ir0l Based on my current strategies, only three roster units are key : Aika, Vyse and Hector. The rest are random because I don't use them. Aika is important for chapter 13 because of Double Movement. Hector is important for chapters 14 and 17 because of Extra Shot and the Super Anti-Armour. Vyse is required in this level because of Super Damage. All the other chapters can be done using only Alicia, Rosie and/or Largo.

Fuck, that aged man sucks. Still haven't received the 'Awaken Potential' and I've almost finished the game. Lame.

Hope this tactic works for me with out the 'Awaken Potential'.

Excellent stradegy, I got an A- Rank but not on a one-turner. I used the Shamrock's Flamethrower and Rosie's Flamethrower, with a few shots from her Ruyhl that I snagged from Selvaria.

It's Ruhm and you get it by not beating her but by beating her DLC.

Awaken Potential? I used only once an order in the whole game and it was Aim Boost (on this mission while destroying towers)... And I did beat this stage in 15 minutes and 2 turns. One of the easiest final boss battles EVER!

I made Rank A videos on my second playthrough. I would say it took about an hour of the easiest missions and up to 5 hours of the toughest ones like this one.

You could always go back to do a skirmish or something and see if he offers it then.

You could also try being super lucky and hope the potentials come naturally.

I did so many skirmishes that I lost count. By the end of the game, I was screaming in frustration, every time the old guy shook his head and told me he had Alzheimer's.

It's ok though. Since I made my original comment, I managed to beat Maximillian. Obviously not as speedy as you did, but I muddled through.

Now that I have the clear game data, the old man offered me Awaken Potential by chapter 7 <_<
