  • I have green eyes :)

  • If your woman is a "green-eyed" Woman then pay attention to 'Sundown"

  • the best thing we could ever do for humanity is bring back the rock organ

  • cool fucking song

  • Turn it UPPPPPPPPP! I am your green eyed lady..... :) lovely lady!

  • A long, long time ago I was a DJ at my college. This was one of my favorite tunes. Thanks for uploading it . . . A classic.

  • Thank you, thank you, thank you! This is one of my favorite, favorite rock jams from back in the day. We jammed this hard when I was comin up in North Philly. I don't know why it wasn't more well received or why they don't play it more on the classic rock stations because the musicianship is outstanding. It's rock but it kinda has a jazzy feel to it with the semi walkin' bass line, the killer organ work and the octave guitar work reminiscent of Wes Montgomery. Damn it sounds good!

  • I was in a band " sound mach" and our organ player, ray rhoades had a B-3, I LOVED it when we played this song, I played lead guitar and thought the BEST part of this song was the organ

  • that keyboard player is awsome

  • Classic, That bass is KIller, lol

  • CARECTORS COULD'T EXPRESS THE METAMORFSIST

  • the hottest ever......green, hazel,off brown w/a green tint.

GREEN EYED LADY......Best song ever from Sugarloaf.

  • Love this tune! That organ throught the leslie always sent a chill up my spine.

  • This great, great song helped to enable me to get through my Viet Nam experience..Thanks for posting!!!

  • @shubop47 This and a lot of CCR, washed down with copious amounts of whiskey. God Bless ya, bro.

  • i used to have this album. kewl song. they were from boulder colorado??? not sure.

  • That's what the quiet ending's for.

    Great tune ..

  • All that helter skelter movement gives me a headache and wrecks the song ...

  • too much creativity for one song...!

  • Fantastic Song brings back many memories from the day

  • One of the funkiest basslines of it's era. Still funky today! For funk is it's won reward!!!!!

  • Full version! Awright!

  • always loved the sound of this song - well engineered imo and better sounding than a lot of music that has been recorded since then.

  • This is such an amazing fucking song.

  • da bomb ol skool

  • I'm old enough to remember that this goes like this: DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH DAH

  • One of my favorite Hammond solos

  • @jmmyg54 the drumming is great too, reminiscent of Lee Michaels style...

  • one of my favorite Hammond solos

  • If I were to suffer some sort of bizzare concussion that caused this bassline to play constantly in my head, I see no adverse effects aside from my intermittent shouting "TURN IT UP" to no one in particular.

Video is teh sex, wish there was a version in HQ...

  • @LeoRex13 Best comment I've seen in awhile.

  • @LeoRex13

Couldn't have said it better myself Leo!

    Now that is perfection! ;)

  • This reminds me of steely dan.

  • I'm old enough to remember when this was a top 40 hit.

  • the ultimate cut

  • i just love that trippy sound @ 2:22

  • this is in my top 10 of all time!!! this song is insane madness!! a materpiece!

  • 2 1/2 months Ill be in Oahu!!!! Stretching towards the SUN....yes!!!

  • That bass line...classic.

  • Sugarloaf, a band out of Denver, right?

  • It's hard to believe this even got on the radio back then at 7:25. Usually, over three minutes got cut down. That would have really ruined the song.

  • @ssur55 I remember back in the day listening to some really long songs. Kashmir was like 8 minutes long and Do You Feel Like We Do was like 7 and a half even after they cut it down for the radio version. Your right in sayin that no radio station would invest the time these days. Quick pop jingles is all they want.

  • @ssur55 Live DJ's like long songs so they can piss or have smoke. Why do you think Fragile got so much air time?

  • @MrYodave1 I made that up!

  • Seriously, why is the Cranberries 'Linger' the number one 'related' song for this?

  • Thanx for the upload. One of my favs of all time!

  • mY WIFE HAS GREEN EYES TOO! I love seeing my reflection in them.

  • My wife has green eyes and this song makes me obviously think of her.

  • This is Vanessa Paradis - Johnny Depp's girlfriend. Perfect person for this song. Nice vid.

  • Something about the sound of the B-3 which can't be duplicated. Raw, energy when those cords come together, makes the hair stand up on my arm.....wow !

  • @waislandres yeah, agreed, the keyboard has great tone b-3 Hammond

  • @inkey2 I lived across the street from this club and, remember the keyboard player cussing up a storm and throwing shit around and knocking things over cause the Leslies had a malfunction 30 min before they were scheduled to perform. Luckily he was a pretty smart dude and was able to get them working in about fifteen minutes. This tune and "Long cool woman in a black dress" were the bands favorites. Bitch-in tunes back then, love the B-3.

  • The time around 1969-'71 seemed to be laden with hits in A minor. This was one of them("Undone" and "Venus " too off the top of my head). A cool key, especially with a Wes Montgomery influence, do I detect?

  • @fgldnglbs A minor?Nah,man,this is in e flat minor.How'd you get a minor?

  • @Capcoor I'm thinking of that first Alicia Keys hit, "Fallin'"(?). Sounds like the same key and the album was "Songs in A Minor," which I thought was more than just a pun. Must do research better than that.

  • @fgldnglbs No worries. Also, the songs "Undone" and "Venus" are in e minor.

  • ALWAY loved this song. Funky, cool, eerie... Thank you for posting!

  • A classic!!! I start my You Tube search with sugarloaf!

  • Well It just gets better ! Thanks for posting.

  • ... the funkiest psychedelic rock to ever emerge from Europe?

  • Just nothing like a B-3.

  • Heeyyyyy nice long version sweeeeettteat!

  • And the Leslies go round and round !

  • thats a tasty bass 8)

  • best song to smoke weed too! gets ur mind calm and mellow!

  • Probably one of the best songs to get laid to!(Especially when you HAVE a Lady with Green Eyes, as I do!)

  • This is a REALLY AWESOME 1! I believe if they re-releases this 1 it would be just as big a hit as it was when it 1st came out!

  • ONE OF THE FINEST HAMMOND ORGAN SOLO'S OF THE DECADE I THINK AND I PLAY HAMMONDS

  • The bass line on this is really solid. The dude doesn't miss a beat.

  • This song makes me want to have the big bang boom!

  • I don't mean this in a mocking way 'cos I love this song...but this song always reminded me of Scooby-Doo. I believe that also came out in 1970, as did this song (not sure which came first). It's really easy to imagine the Scooby and the gang getting chased by a big ghost or searching for clues with this as the incidental music...but hey, I love Sugarloaf. It would've been a kick ass show to see them with Argent, another shredder on the organ! Cheers!

  • Dig this cats, ya know like I had seven albums from these dudes and like I sold them when I needed a bag of weed, but hey dig this their still cool yea man still cool. like right man yea right on!

  • 0:53 was the point when I first heard this song last year on Halloween. Initially I thought it was a cover of the Munster's theme.

  • I really don't know why, but every single time this song plays on a classic rock station, my mind immediately brings up the theme to The Munsters tv show.

  • @DirgeNYS HA HA HA HA, me too!

  • @CarpeFeline93 i care

  • Ive always thought this song was one of THE top 50 ever.

  • Dark highway.

    Me in a Chevelle.

    Girl beside me.

    This song playing.

    Priceless....

  • tremenda cancion, haa! los 70s quien regresara a vivirlos nuevamente

  • They were great 'cause they were a Denver quartet.

  • love this song than you so very much!

  • green and blue eyed woman

  • i'm pretty sure this is what is meant, when they talk about rock n roll...

  • Dark green emerald eyes ,and nice brown hair is so hot on a women .

  • Luv this song!!!! Luv green eyed ladies!!!! ;)

  • There are songs that have the primeval effect when the music begins. You sort of drift to the beach at midnight, the moon is full, and the lady is rare. There is only now. The song ends, the mist lifts but the feeling is rekindled.

  • I married a "Green Eyed Lady". I wonder if this song had some subliminal effect on my choice? Love the song. Thank you!

  • Great effin song...will always remember this!..."How could you not'?

  • For some reason the guitar work reminds me of the early Cosby Show theme.

  • Green eyes are weird, you can find it only in Latin America . . .

  • Yes it is good driving music.....

  • Just heard this song while driving down the road. Perfect driving music.

  • @Mirokuofnite You got that right! Also Radar Love by Golden Earring.

  • @Mirokuofnite i totally agree, i was listening to this while i was driving on my way to school. man was that a good morning!

  • this song is actually about the goddess Oshun, but im sure many women were compared to the barefoot goddess of the sea and fertility from the Carribean area.

  • @starrwoode Please tell us more about Oshun. I rather dig and appreciate your interpretation of the song's meaning.

  • @starrwoode Please tell us more about Oshun. I rather dig and appreciate your interpretation of the song's meaning. "...Child of Nature, Friend of man...."

  • This one is for all you green eyed baby dolls from the 70's.

  • this song is one of the best I've heard that really instrumentally constructs a good "build up" till they finally start the vocals

  • @inkey2

I understand what you mean, and I totally agree! Like it's so good, you wouldn't even mind if the vocals never started. Hahaha.

  • I remember this and others around about then, Shocking Blue's "Venus", George Baker Selection's "Little Green Bag"; which was used to such good effect in Quentin Tarantino's "Reservoir Dogs", that were sooo cool with such "hip" and tight arrangements...

  • @HomerSimpson3288 dude you're old

  • I am 165 and I love this music

  • Nobody plays the full version enough on the radio and my sister was the one with the green eyes and female (dad has lighter green eyes) and loved it when the whole version comes on. She originally had blue eyes until she was 4!

  • far out

  • LOL this extended full version includes the theme song to the Munsters 60's tv sitcom.. at least that's what it reminds me of in certain parts

  • I had the 45 of this & played it all the time...I always liked it as a child because my eyes are green ~ Thanks for posting a little slice of life for me.

  • exotic music and groovy

  • Sharedan is a natural green-eyed lady!

  • "If I had a one dollar for every pixel in this video, I would have one dollar."

  • @JoshGroverD LOL or maybe two dollars ?

  • @JoshGroverD LOL

  • Great job with the video added to this classic tune.

  • I really like this song I was 10 years old when I first heard this song great memories, & the girl in this video is beautiful. -RetroRichie :-)

  • Good job, yeah, Vanessa sure fits in perfect there, just like she would on my fa...hehey! Lol.

  • I was 11 years old in 1971 when this song came out. I still think it's a great song today. :)

  • @tuff47 NOOOOOOOO!!!!! this song is 41 years old--it was released in the early fall of 1970--NOT 1971.

  • @Korvinski "When music was cool, groovy & innocent. Lyrics were clean and people were pure and unspoiled."

    Uhhh...

Well, I dunno if I should burst your bubble and point out there are some (probably even worse) lyrics during this era than there are today.. Or just laugh at you for being so ignorant it's hilarious.

I wonder when you'll realize that, since humans are animals, sex is one of the most natural things we can do, and accepting it just makes us.. y'know. Natural.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow

You, sir, are a smart man and are very much in touch with reality. I like that.

  • @ThazuaBlackarrow There is a whole slew of banned lyrics from back then and long before the 60's or even the 40's that's around, just find a few sites reffering to the subject and there may be a big list with sound samples. Billy holliday and nina simone had been censored for their covers of old blues songs dirty 20's ditties are about too and the forever censored target of the time was Frank Zappa, you still can't hear any Mthers of invention music in the AM on the radio not even by request!

  • Can you hear the representation time working the speakers from side to side with different musical parts coming out each side. And then they went to quadro speakers and the music was coming in all sides of the room.....moving. Hear it... that was great with the drugs.. Understand why they were an important part of this going on at a party..

  • @brokenwingb4 i can remember those days my friend!!!!!!!

  • The Now Explosion. My Dad hated that :D

  • Wow ultra float away

  • Why does this song make me PICTURE some white cougar M.I.L.F in an old station wagon swerving down a residential road, chasing her cheating husband down the street in a rage to kill him!

    LOL....

  • two words.....epic song

  • What a great classic tune! Long before MTV...there was the "Now Explosion"

This tune may pre-date "Now Explosion."

    That's when rock was badass1

  • another classic that I grew up with...man...the music was something

I'm one of those people who when they hear a song from the past can pretty much tell you what they were doing when they first heard a song...I know I'm not the only one who does that...am I?

  • I am a Green Eyed Dude does that Count?

    Lub Dem Green Eyed Ladies

  • The best!!

  • this song is an ode to women green eyes or not

  • Before MTV!

  • I have green eyes nd every guy tells me " their is something about you green eyed girls" (; i loveee having green eyes

  • WOW! Subliminal influences! I never thought about it until now, but I married a green eyed blonde.

  • i'm just 28 and i find people who mentions their age extremely annoying.

  • @seiter13 Well, I'm 92yrs, and I think people who... Look a moth...

  • Kick ass tune, goes from Adams family type sound to Steppen Wolf. Or I was tripping on somethin?

  • Takes me back to when I was 25 and LOVED this song. Amazing how a song can take you right back to a very moment in time.

  • @dawnjakeleah You´re right man, we can travel back in time thru the music. This song reminds me my first girlfriend, she had green eyes! Great times, great memories!

  • @XProckTJ On second thought, I think it is stupid to think about traveling to the past, music allows us to relive experiencies that we had in our lives, that is different. Sometimes we say things because of the emotion of the moment. Greetings from Tijuana, México my friend.

  • Green eyed ladies are cool but this song is about the Earth. Just sayin....

  • @tornspeedo Maybe Mother Nature has green eyes : )

  • Amazing song... considering in the early 1970's, most songs on the radio were 3 or 4 minutes long, and the cool stations in Toronto would play the full 7 min

    plus version.

  • Whoa..this is some trippy stuff right here..I like it :D

  • another mark on how the 70s music scene didn't suck...this song is too cool...beyond man!

  • never gets old replay time

  • Great great tune. Would this be considered "art rock" or progressive rock?

  • @mrstep2me it would be considered "good music", fuck classifying the endless world of music into genres

  • i may be 16, but that doesnt mean i cant love great music

  • @CarpeFeline93 I may be 827, but that doesn't mean I care if other people know how old I am ore not.

  • @CarpeFeline93

You may love great music, but that doesn't mean we care how old you are.

  • @randyschuele Be nice....he's just a kid. :(

  • @BeautifulTrainwreyck

I'm not much older than he is. Just 3 years.

  • @randyschuele Then be the bigger man and Let it go.

  • @BeautifulTrainwreyck

    Uh...Let what go?

  • @randyschuele The hostility towards the kid....it's mean and you arent right.

  • @BeautifulTrainwreyck

I'm sorry if you have mistaken what i said as hostile. I was simply letting him know that you don't have to be a certain age to like older music.

  • @randyschuele Oh my God I am so sorry....I thought you were being mean intentionally.

    I am so sorry.....major misunderstanding. :(

  • @CarpeFeline93 Particularly as there is not too much of it around these days.

    I agree with you.

  • @CarpeFeline93 congrats...

  • @CarpeFeline93 u go !

  • @CarpeFeline93 no one cares that ur 16

  • @TheSwaggydawg its funny, ive gotten like 8 other messages saying the same thing. just chill out and enjoy the music.

Thumbs up if u remember listening to this shoot up the charts in the Spring of 1971...good times!!!!

  • @rowdymax1 Spring of 71 I was almost 12 and yes I remember it well. OMG talk about good ole days. lol

  • made before computers, digital controllers and software. Pure musicianship here kiddies. They would kick any groups ass solid today.
