Its so fake, and it pisses me off that they could totally lock a place down, cam and mike it to catch stuff but they dont, they dont want to solve the mystery because then they wont have anything to sell.

I visited this place on a sunny August day and it is the spookiest place I have ever been. It has a heavy, claustrohobic atmosphere but I loved it. If you go to Philly then go. I'm English but was visiting relatives who suggested we visit. Really glad we did. I wish I could have been there at night, it would be crazy. It was a brutal place that treated prisoners dreadfully in the name of rehabilitation so its no surprise it feels the way it does.

I began watching this series with positive expectations but it soon degenerated into a ridiculous charade,punctuated by constant chatter & 'background' music.The need to have everyone freaking out(with no explanation as to why!)becoming the priority over any 'para' event.Lousy & ill planned filming techiques & an endless stream of camp presenters made this yet another gutter tv,merchandising mockery of a subject that deserves more respect.The only thing they were ever sh*tting was money!

It looks awful now but I think that the prison was originally supposed to be quite comfortable, as far as amenities, but it was keeping people locked up on their own for all but one hour per day and allowing no contact or communication with anyone else, it drove many prisoners insane. If they broke the rules they were punished very cruelly. And it went on for many years before they reformed the place. Barbarians.
