  • 1) The difference in meaning between those two statements is negligible. 2) II am going to try to explain this as simply as possible, if two people are arguing and they're both using the same word, but defining it differently then an illusory disagreement is inevitable. If your stupid to understand this simple concept than there's really nothing I can do for you.

  • @RadarGuidedVermin dude your hilarious, this isn't a graduate thesis its fucking youtube, who cares about minor grammatical errors, I have better things to do than proof read comments.

  • Each of these idiots is dumber than the other.

  • @RadarGuidedVermin two people can't both be dumber than the other you tard. you might want to be careful about contradicting yourself in the process of calling someone ELSE dumb.

  • Comment removed

  • @nspeert no you're wrong, what you mean to say is that they each SEEM to be dumber than the other and that is the paradox (which by the way isn't even a paradox, it just seems that way), there's obviously a fact of the matter as to who is dumber.

  • @nspeert Nope, it is a paradox and correct as written. Deal with it.

  • Comment removed

  • @RadarGuidedVermin wow, your arguments are so well supported.

A contradiction is something whose components can't both be correct at the same time (e.g. too people both being dumber than the other). A paradox is something that seems like a contradiction (e.g. a C student studying harder than an A student), which isn't actually a contradiction because it could just be that the A student is sufficiently smarter.

  • @RadarGuidedVermin i forgot to read over what i typed before hitting post, but it doesn't matter, you clearly understand what I meant to say. Furthermore, you didn't mention anything about what my actual points were, your the one whose squiring, addressing things that aren't even pertinent to the argument at hand because you know you can't win on what the argument is actually about. Get back to me when you've actually looked at the difference between the meanings of paradox and contradiction.

  • Comment removed

  • @RadarGuidedVermin Haha, buddy! Who cares about simple grammatical errors! The purpose of grammar is to convey meaning and you obviously understand what I'm saying. The only reason you care about my grammar is to detract attention away from your lack of understanding of simple logic, (i.e. the difference between paradox and contradiction) - which is what this argument was initially about. Just google 'difference between paradox and contradiction' and you'll see.

  • ..(cont.)

1 : a tenet contrary to received opinion

2 a : a statement that is seemingly contradictory or opposed to common sense and yet is perhaps true

b : a self-contradictory statement that at first seems true

c : an argument that apparently derives self-contradictory conclusions by valid deduction from acceptable premises

3: one (as a person, situation, or action) having seemingly contradictory qualities or phases

p.s. just keeping telling me I'm wrong.. that'll make it true.

  • @RadarGuidedVermin Relax buddy, take a breath. Words often have multiple definitions, some of those definitions can contradict one another as you can clearly see below, (all the definitions except for b contradict b). Its therefore important to use the definition of the word that is most often used, which you have not done, you've just picked the obscure definition. Think about it, if a paradox was just a contradiction why not just call it a contradiction.

  • @RadarGuidedVermin The lady doth protest too much, if you were actually confident that I was wrong, you wouldn't have needed to repeat YOUR WRONG, in all caps over and over and over lol (who are you trying to convince you or me?) (cont.)..

  • @RadarGuidedVermin Once again! you picked only the definition that fits your view, while neglecting to quote any of the other definitions in that dictionary entry, like this one: a statement or proposition that SEEMS self-contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a possible TRUTH. I'm not surprised that on all your videos the dislikes outweigh the likes, you can' seem to accept when your wrong thereby allowing you to learn from your mistakes.

  • Comment removed

  • Alright this was fun at first but I'm starting to get bored, I'm going to tell you this one more time, so read carefully..

    1) your initial claim was that 'each of these idiots is dumber than the other' is a paradox, but if a paradox is 'a statement or proposition that SEEMS self-contradictory or absurd but in reality expresses a possible TRUTH'

    2) and each person being dumber than the other is a contradiction and therefore is false

    3) then your remark is not a paradox but a contradiction.

  • @QuantumVaporization No, on that definition of paradox he's wrong. What he said is that 'each of these idiots is dumber than the other,' but the definition of paradox that you just quoted has it that it 'SEEMS to lead to a contradiction', but two people being dumber than the other is an ACTUAL contradiction.

  • Comment removed

  • @RadarGuidedVermin lol That definition you used contradicts itself and you only took the one part that contradicts the rest (very misleading - you should work for Fox News lol). Look at it in its full context, especially every other part except the part you selectively took (part b). (cont.)..

  • Obama is the man, but he needs to watch and learn a lil from Anthony Weiner

  • Surely it's pronounced 'Boner' and not 'Baner.'

  • this DYKE HAS A FACE OF A HORSE

  • @neilzep Unless the appearance of her face has anything to do with the validity of her argument, your comment is irrelevant.

  • @killacountry:

You're going to sit there and say the bill is a hostile takeover of our country's gov't even though it was proposed by gov't officials? If you are going to question congress get your facts straight sir.

  • I think democrat or republican, we can all come to a consensus that this is the only true politician we have left in this country. Weiner is honest, full of integrity, and there for the people. And definitely the most progressive we have seen in years.

  • Weiner and Boehner? You know, it's an unusual pair of names. Either way, the only way the Republicans will be in the majority is if their members are so hypocritical, that there seems to be twice as many Republicans as there really are!

  • If we had more guys like him, we would be a better country.

  • as it turns out...Weiner was right

  • What if the Dems select Weiner for 2012, he wins, then in 2016 Obama wins again? Wonder how that would work out... Weiner might help make america more liberal, which would help Obama go through with his policies. That'd be neat.

  • i love Rachel Maddow and i love Tony Weiner, seeing them on one video together is priceless
