  • The CME or his deputies busy scribbling steamers to the scrap torches.

  • Once there was a place called Australia, the lucky country. what happened to that dream?

Oh for the days of steam! How i loath the life of the modern man, to do a honest days work for a honest days pay, and not have to worry about worldly issues or a mortgage.

  • @Veiwst10 : Edward Gough Whitlam ; Lance Barnard ; and Jimmy Cairns whispered our industry away by abolishing tariffs. Edward Gough Whitlam covered up by horse-whispering the genial Sir John Kerr into sacking him. Malcolm Frazier (U.S. President confused him with a pugulist) continued Whitlam's policies. So did Bob Hawke ("that right wing bastard") who became an honorary citizen of the State of Israel while he was still Prime Minister. Many of us workers even owned a holiday home at Rosebud. ;-(

  • awsome vid

  • Good video & great commentary, clear & easy to understand, thanks for posting.

  • This is brillant and extremely informative. The commentary is priceless and typical of the times. Very home grown.

Why not watch my grandfathfather in the clip "Out Of Steam" for another view on the steam locomotives from 1967.

  • Nice bit of nostalgic film - ruined by the totally unneccesary and intrusive voiceover.

  • actualy the voice over is quite informative.. and not intrusive.. sheesh some ppl are so dour..
