  • you taught him not to poo all over?

  • @I8DEAN8I Most parrots will stop doing this on thier own once they learn to control thier pooper, and are not nervous around you. Many will train themselves to only poop on thier cage and play stands.

  • @shnookey1979 Ok. The more I watch these videos the more I wanna job so I can get the money to buy a little baby :3

  • my mom might finally comply into letting me get an african grey, they have been my dream pet for as long as i can remember, any tips? any names? besides big butt (:

  • hello. i have a African grey to. his name is poncho :-)

anyway he's been pulling his feathers out and he looks really bad. you could see his skin and everything can you tell me what too do please?

  • It could be a number of things. Nutirition, not enough toys, not enough room in his cage, not enough socialization, needs a mate, parasites, disease. Best to take him to an avian vet and see whats going on.

  • thanks

  • he is bored, you should spend more time with him

  • @saff3356 def not bored. i spend atleast 20 mins twice a day w/ him, hes got plenty of space and gets plenty of attention

  • My grey is between 15 and 17, and he is a rescue. after much trial and error, i've gotten him to sit on his back and let me hold him in my hands like yours.

  • how do you teach them to do that?????

  • I started working with him as a baby. You can work with them by gently rocking them side to side on the floor during play time till they are comfortable with it, and slowly getting them closer to being on thier back each day. Eventually you can do just about anything with them once they are in full trust of you.

  • How is he a "closet birdy buddy"?

  • Read again...it says CLOSEst. Not Closet. ;)

  • hes gonna be a serial killer someday

  • What a cutie! My Nikki is almost 15 years old.. already! Raised her from a chick. If.. like you have done.. one handles the bird from the beginning.. you can do amazing things! Have fun!

  • ha ha ha what a cool gray.Looks like it is having the best time ever .Your birds know you love them and the videos show as much.Oh lets not forget the 2 and 3 year old what a happy and loving HOME you have. thanks for sharing these videos o youtube i enjoyed them.

  • Everyone is pretty spoiled here. They are all part of the family. Thank you and glad you are enjoying my vids. ;)

  • Hey Sarah, Big Butt is having a blast you can tell! My CAG, Parker, also loves to go upside down. It's all in the way you work with them from babies and I know that you work with all your babies alot! CAG's love the interaction with their humans, amount of time spent with them shows up in the personalities and willingness to do these things - it's mainly TRUST and Big Butt certainly does trust you, that is very clear! Keep up the good work with your FIDS and I love all your videos!

    Pami

  • Thanks Pami. I raised Big Butt from a baby. Hand fed him, weaned him, and am truely his "momma". He got the name "Big Butt" because of how big and fluffy his butt looked as a baby, when he still ahd all those down feathers. lol YOur Parker is a cutey too!

  • What's a CAG???

  • CAG stands for "Congo African Grey". Fids are "Feathered Kids". Bird talk. ;) lol

  • FIDS???

  • Your children are you KIDS... Bird kids are FIDS. ;) Just another term birdy peoples use. ;)

  • I can't believe you got an African Grey to do that! That's so cute! I heard they are diffcult birds to handle, but clearly not yours!

  • They can be very difficult birds to handle because they can be easily spooked, and have a mind of thier own. They are very stubborn and can be tempermental. Early on correction of bad behaviors needs to be set in, and early on trust needs to be built up in order to do these things. He can be tempermental at times, but it is usually pretty easy to get him out of it through positive renforcement. I have yet to persoanly meet anyone who can do these things with their greys.

  • I wish my african grey could do that. awsome parrot.

  • He is so cute! And so very trusting. How did he get his name?

  • LOL, his name... well it was going to be Fern or Toot... but he was not fully feathered when I got him. I was still hand feeding him. And he had a big fluffy butt with all the fluffy gray down feathers. So Big Butt was his nick name....and once he got bigger and I was going to pick a name, I was just so used to calling him big butt I couldn't rememebr to use another name. So I jsuit kept it...big butt. lol

  • When they start talking, your can't shut them up...LOL

  • With all my other parrots in the house screaming constantly I think I will take non stop talking any day! lol

  • Yeah but you forgive them for being chatty because they have a cute face.

  • What a good bird. I love his baby noises!!!

  • Yeh, he is turning out to be a wonderful trusting little guy. I love his baby noises. But recently he has been getting in his adolecent voice I think and he makes a noise that sounds a lot like a duck! lol He pants like a dog when he gets excited and can wolf whistle. Can't wait for him to start talking! =)
