Actually Kings Of Leon toured with The Strokes for a long time,

They are good friends and they love eachothers music..The Strokes are a big fan of Kings Of Leon and in fact, KOL's first 2 albums are a little similar to The Strokes: Just good old Rock & Roll, just KOL's last 2 albums are less raw and more sophisticated..That's all..I love both the bands, They both have really cool songs, and if you listen to KOL's first 2 albums I'm sure you'll love them.
