  • I wanna do macro of these creeping things. Don´t you think the Tamron 90mm would be better for insect shots?

  • Please, watch mine too: /watch?v=sPcRE3eHhR0

I´m sure you will like it!

  • To all you users commenting "Use a tripod" have you considered that although a tripod may increase the stability of the picture during the amount of time needed to carry, unfold, angle and tighten a tripod all of these insects you see would have disappeared, macro is a time consuming project just enjoy other peoples hard work rather then criticizing it :)

  • @Striiker22 Fine then, a Monopod.

  • Instead of pointing out everything that might be "wrong" with the vid, enjoy everything that's right.

  • superlike!!!!!!!!!!!!! awesome.........

  • It´s funny too see the comments from noobs thinking they know everything. A lot of "buy a tripod".. Will that stop the insects and flowers moving around? Have you guys tried to film in macro in windy conditions? Have you tried to film insects on a flower, in windy conditions, in macro???? Well??? Show us then!!!!

  • beautifull video!!

  • PLEASE HELP!! I have a problem which is that when im editing my NIkon d3100 videos in sony vegas I never get full screen?? what to do?? always black bars everywhere .. or prefer me some editing program PLEASE HELP!!

  • fucking trolls :)

  • don't you love it when the top two comments are exactly the same?....

  • Spider was awesome

  • what did u edit with?

  • Great test.

  • All you need is tripod

    All you have is Nikon

  • Give some background music !!!!

  • Thanks for sharing. Are you focusing the lens or just moving in and out?

  • @ericav808 its replaces the the current lenses you have on your camera you take what ever lens is on your camera body of then you put the macro lense on and your ready too go

  • hi! i just bought my nikon d3100 and i absolutely love it. i was wondering something: i really wanna get a macro lens for my camera, but i wasn't sure how i was supposed to attach it. do i need an adaptor for it or can i attach it to the end of a 18 - 55mm lens? please answer!

  • @erickav808 just detach the default d3100 lense, then attach the macro lense. Macro lense is a seperate lense alltogether, so it isn't an attachment that you add onto the end :)

  • @erickav808 roflol

  • WOW!!! I have the camera... but I NEED a macro len. This is simply amazing :D Good job on the video :)

  • manual focus on d3100, right?

  • nice footages

  • great! i have a question, i bought a Nikon D40 a couple of years ago, now i want to buy a Nikon D3100, i have two lenses from the Nikon d40, can i put the lens from this camera on my Nikon D3100? Or do i have to buy new lenses..

    thnx for the answer!

  • I love this camera :O

  • this microworld looks beautiful if you are big enough!

  • Hi Modellportfolio, I'm using a Sony Vegas Pro for my editing and I can't directly use the videos from D3100, I tried converting it but the videos quality is affected badly. when you play the video it looks pausing and delayed frequently. Can you suggest anything that could help me. thanks.

    Dave

  • @davedesigner it coud be your pc graphics card thats old and it dosnt support hd videos. u might have to upgrade your pc. i had the same problem i had to get a new pc cus my pc coudn't play anyhting in 720p or higher.

  • How did you find so many butterflies in one place?

  • get a tripod

  • Nice lens!

  • wow... that's really good :D

  • loveee this video!!!

  • loooove this video!

  • love this video!

  • how can you get the video so close to the insects with a 50 mm? Did you use something else?

  • first of all, the d3100 is the worst camera you can buy for making videos, it has massive rolling shutter issues, and the 10 minute limit just sucks. for making videos . the framerate doesnt even look close to 30 or even 25 frames.i would suggest a panasonic gh1 or gf1 depending how much you want to spend and upgrade it with the custom firmware to enable the full power of these beasts.

having a d3100 myself i realy regret buying it for its sucky video mode, but its a damn good camera for stills.

  • i didnt know michael j fox started filming as a hobby.

  • on 1:22 it would have been amazing, the shot of the spider.....

lovely...but the lack of it stability.....

    pity....

    use a tripod next time.....

nice colors....did you grade the video in any application?

  • Wow, really amazing video ! :)

  • I imagine your depth of field can be increased with higher ISO...

    Nice posting!!! Thanks!

  • I would love to see what you could achieve with this lense and a tripod.

  • *_____*

  • I just ordered this lens and now i am delighted that i did. I really enjoyed watching this !!

  • hola, muy bueno el video, vistes que graba de a 10 minutos,se puede hacer continuo el video? gracias

  • Would it be better to use a tripod for macro modes? THe jello effect is pretty pronounced at this level...amazing clarity, color though.

  • wooooooow its micro so amazin, i though its special lens, but after read description i find it normal lens nikor 18-50mm wooow

  • dammmm put some music nigger

  • BELLO

  • @cheetodude24 in my opinion , this gap concerning simply semi expert and expert is smaller now. d7000 is all we all need. check out... freedslr . c0m change 0 with o and take the chance to win a new Nikon D7000

  • AMAZING WORK!!!!!!!! :)

  • Great macro, but the video is "jiggling" and "wiggling" like a jello when your hands shake.

  • wooow this lens is so great too, what abeautifull micro.i like it.

  • use tripod!

  • @lo0nyk WHAT IS TRIPOD?

  • @weeeeegeeeeeeeeeeeee a tripod is something that holds ur camera while ur shooting video!

  • google it!

  • @lo0nyk (or a mono pod)

  • @lo0nyk Will that stop the insects and flowers from moving around? Think first, then comment!

  • @lo0nyk Feel the tripod !

  • @lo0nyk

    s/he should stop drinking :) :P

  • @grashoper00 Or maybe you should try shoting an insect with that camera yourself:) ..trust me, it's not easy focusing on something that small with only a 55mm.. :)

  • @lo0nyk not a tripod but a VR(vibrate reduction) for Nikon lenses or a OS (optical stabilizer ) for a Sigma ...

  • wow is this with a nikon d3100? from €599 ? because i got the same one .

  • safe to say you need a tripod or you need to use the VR

  • No VR??

Or was it just not turned on???

  • Hi Guys,

I shooted another two videos, here you can maybe see even better the advantages of the camera with premium lenses. I used 50mm 1.4 and 80-200 2.8 lenses, both in MF as they are not compatible with the AF of the d3100, I will post them in a minute!

@wtrf22 - thanks, I have a tripod, but if the wind is blowing that does not help if you are shooting macro...

  • Wow, Amazing video!

  • For video, a better choice would have been the Sony a33 / a55, and enjoy the older Minolta lenses on it.

Those sonys have phase shift based auto focusing, which is always right. No hunting, seeking, overfocusing, trial and error guess work.

Easily competes photo quality wise too.

  • buy a tripod

  • can this lens fits in d5000?

  • @jidee1 Yes

  • I have the same camera, but I can't find the "Macro" mode, if there even is such a thing... I have the 18-55mm lens that came with the camera, should the 55mm work like it is doing yours? Can you explain why the 18mm zooms in yet we are looking for more of a zoom out? I'm such an amatuer at this, thanks for any feedback!

  • @TheTrueSong Macro mode is the one with the flower icon on your dial.

  • Just beautiful

  • Are the photos the camera takes as good as it's videos?

  • @wendy5640 better, at 14.2 pixels :| can u imagine that ??!?!?!?!?!

  • Wow, this is some amazing footage!

  • I looked at this just to see what the Nikon footage would look like and I found a video that is so amazing ! Its beautiful what you filmed :D

  • Hi, no, there is no AF with the Sigma 50mm 2.8 DG Macro lenses, but if you shoot macro maybe it is not a big deal, I used to shoot macro in MF mode.

  • Hey I'd like to know if D3100 supports Sigma 50mm F2.8 in auto-focus shots, please answer me! :D

    thank you

  • @Smiler182 Yes, Sigma fits in Nikon.

  • Hi, no, this is only with the sigma 50mm. Lately I used the camera with the 50mm 1.4, amazing! Not really good for moving subjects, but I shooted excellent videos while my son was playing in the sandbox. So after few weeks I can strongly recommend the camera if you have some quality lenses.

  • @Modellportfolio I have Nikon D5000, and I probably going to buy this objetive. Im only 14, and I saw Sigma 50mm 2.8 at 339 euros. At what price do you bought SIgma 50mm 2.8?

    Thanks for all

PS: sorry about my english errors, i am spanish...

  • But in this video did you use some extension tubes or something to zoom the image or do you use just the sigma 50mm with nothing else.

Thanks, anda please aswer, this is very important for me.

  • you bought it only for the video???

hahahahaha what a waste of money, you can't be serious

  • @CzarThePlezer but it's a waste of his money though, and then again maybe it works for him, and he'll have the ability to shoot photos if needed.

I don't understand why everyone worries about everyone elses money. I don't need anyone to tell me anything about what I buy and Im sure you wouldn't give a damn what someone told you. So.

  • Nice, what are your thoughts on the 35mm 1.8
