@douro20 If that was the case I would have died 40 plus years ago. I've welded with 7018, 8018 & 9018 all low-hydrogen. With gloves and without gloves!! Every time you open a 50 lbs. box you handle them. That’s the first time I’ve heard that. I started welding in my dad’s shop when I was 14th. Been weld since then until my automobile accident in October of 2000 at age 52. I’ve been in a wheelchair since then.
@jcr3rd Nice video, I'm just getting into MMA welding and oxy-acetylene cutting/welding. Not near as easy as most people think. I'll have to look and see if you've got any vids with welding tips and such, I always love advice from a pro. Sorry to hear about your accident, seems like you've got a great positive attitude about things which says a lot. God bless you and your family.
@jcr3rd i believe he meant that the rod will "suck" the moisture out of your hands and it will get impregnated into the rod itself, meaning it will flake off the coating.
@strangedean I say it to people daily and I mean it, so,,, Have a Nice day. Try it' it's nice to say, and when you mean it, you have a better outlook towards other people.
@strangedean I'm sorry you wasted your time away by looking at my video. You could have said something nice like have a nice day. I can tell from your comment that you are not a very nice person. I watched some of your videos. I like that kind of music. From your comment don't think I would like to have you as one of my friends. Tell Devon SHE IS CUTE. See I said something nice about your video.
@jcr3rd ,,NICE JOB!!!!!!,Ive been in my own welding Bisness for 37 years, and Gosh, I wasted,(I DONT CALL IT WASTED< ) I had FUN,for well over a Hour,,you ,make it look easy,, Nicely said,I was Brought Up like YOU,If you dont have something nice to say,,Do say a WORD!!!!! Thanks again,, Jack
Well...I got about 1500 Pounds of rods...guess I'll have to try this....Have to use 1/8" though...and...I wonder how many hours this guy spent screwing off at work practicing this..?
@dougspair I was a boilermaker welder when I learn how to do this. Yes I was on the job too. I wasn't screwing off. I did it while waiting on the riggers to hang some tubes to have something to weld on. If you ever worked on a construction job you should know you are not burning rods 24/7. I have burned rods all day and sometime for a week where e didn’t have time to screw off. I did have some screw off time when waiting on someone else.
@theman4130 Thanks for checking my video out. Yep on break and waiting on the riggers to hang something to weld on. I've won a few five dollar bills doing it. Show it to someone one time and say if you do in it five minutes I’ll give you five dollars. If you don’t you give me five. Most would jump right on it. Five minutes goes by pretty fast. If you’ve never done it you would do good to do it in five minutes. Lunch money!!!
@coldironhands1 You say manual labor!! When I was working I was making $75,000 to $90,000 a year. I live in a $350,000 home on 15 acres of land. I don’t owe a penny to anyone. I pay my taxes, utility and food. I live as good are better than most people and I’m retired. When I did work my hand was as clean as yours. The way I see it I put my pants on just like you. You have a nice day my friend.
@coldironhands1 see people like you stupid damn desk jockies are whats running this country into the ground so how bout you just shut you pretty little mouth cause in 20 and work between 60 and 70 hours a week and half that time is spent unfucking what retards like you do with prints cause all you guys know is what the computer tells you and i hope one day you will learn what its like to actually earn your money
I once saw a man weld foil from a cigarette package with a paper clip and a 9 volt battery. He tested the weld by pulling on the foil and it tore at a spot other then the weld. That was the man that taught me how to weld.
Hey MATTEDENS, im sure you dont need to ask to know what it tastes like... but seriously guys, hes just trying to make a video. I dont see any of you doing anything better
@nobaccos I've won a few 5 dallor bills with it through the years. If you were a welder you would understand. Next time you see a welder get just five 3/32 7018 welding rods and give it a try.
So...what exactly is this.... "trick"? Just to hold 2 rods with each finger? Thats 'it'? easy as tripping when they tie your shoe laces together at a frat party.
@UpcomingJedi Garras if you watch the video you can see what I’m doing with the welding rods. You have to hold the rods in your hands than connect two rods from finger to finger. I bet you can’t do it with just one rod from finger to finger Garras. You need to be a welder to understand. Get ten 3/32 7018 welding rods and give it a try. Better yet get 5 welding rods and give it a try. Garras thanks for checking out my video.
