  • my automatic atleast i think has a clutch one of my pedals are stuck to the floor. i noticed it yesterday and was like wtf

  • hey i finally installed the t5 transmission. did you have a handbreak in yours? cause i have one but i want to take it out, i dont think i will really need it.

  • @lilgiller nice! i'm jealous lol. i just used the original handbrake the car came with...I always parked in gear and with the h/b on...just a habit. and be careful on the road....its even worse now with all the texters out there. but your car is loud...they cant NOT hear you lol

  • T5 yeah, but that steeda stick looks like shit. It does not belong in the car. I have a 66 and T5 with a Hurst shifter and close ratio the T5 came with.

  • @lp32862 thats your opinion,....now where's your video so I can shit on your hard work?

  • haha mine has a built 302 with around 400hp so i am not too concerned about the "tired engine" and tahts good cause my brakes suck. and tahts good about the more responsive because i always feel like mine is so slow from like 0-20 mph

  • @lilgiller lol lucky you, i had plans for mine but she got tboned 4 months after the t5 went in. enjoy it man, you wont regret it. i had the most power on tap at the 2-3 shift.

  • and more usable power?

  • @lilgiller sure...it felt lighter, and more responsive. and when you let off the gas, it decelerates so much faster ....less work for the brakes:) ....the auto just sapped up what little power the poor thing had

  • after the swap did u see a significant increase in mpg?

  • @lilgiller never calculated it, but yea I got a couple extra days in before the next fillup.

  • did you see a big increase in acceleration after doing the conversion? like did the car accelerate faster and feel like it had more torque?

  • @lilgiller yup....the c4 auto i took out was a lot heavier than the t5 so it lightened up a bit. the speed gear with my tired engine was 2nd, it hauled ass more than when it was auto for sure. another cool thing was the deceleration when i let off the gas.....with the auto it took forever to slow down, but with the t5, it just instantly slowed once i took my foot off the pedal(car still in gear)

  • one lucky mexican

  • @benpie12 u are one dumb redneck cunt. first im from the caribbean....2nd...lucky my ass...i bought that car when i was 19 yrs old, cash. u look like ur about 16, when do u get to have ur mom's camry?

  • @whitestang65 hahahahaahahahah tell that mother fucker hahaha so did the t5 take the power or would you recomend a tremec tko

  • @jfkyz125 ..actually there was no power to take hehe, thats a stock 1965 289 with a factory 2 barrel carb. aka 150hp. I've had no experience with tko's but i hear they are really stout.

  • @whitestang65 ohhh wow well yea lol i forgot the 289s seem to sound like the cobra has that same low end ground thumpin sound god i love the way they sound i figured you had the motor built to bad you had to sell it i fount a 65 stang for 500 dang i wish i jumped on it come with new floor pans and everything all needed was all new parts installed and a new motor unfornutaly i missed opportunity and the car was sold so now i got a z31 300zx that im swapping in a vh45de in it should be interesting

  • @jfkyz125 haha yea, they sound great, but don't move so fast compared to these cars today (stock for stock). dont worry about the mustang, they sold millions of them lol. the 300zx is a sweet car too, my buddies drove them in high school. good luck with the swap man

  • hey i have a 1966 mustang coupe with a 302 and t5 trans of a 6cyl mustang gt as well but what i wanted to ask is how did u figure out the whole clutch cable because from what i have seen the mustang has a push rod and the tran has a pull type cable?

  • @skuduche the clutch cable was already figured out by mustangsteve (check his site, he sells a pedal assembly kit that i used) The clutch cable attaches to the top of the new clutch pedal, and from there gets routed to the fork. eliminates all the mechanical hardware with z bars and all that jazz. also, the pedal assembly comes with a ballbearing fitted to the clutch pedal so no bushings to be worn out tin the future, pretty cool

  • yeah those steeda tri ax short shifters work awesome i have one on my 280zx turbo that has a T-5

  • @MIZQUITLI that's cool , i love those old zx's

  • Was you driving barefoot? It looks like I can see top of toes on the gas and do you drive barefoot often?

  • i wanna find a top loader for my 66 coupe right now its got the standard 3 speed stick in it and its waaay to low geared for the 289 that i put in it

  • For me, that throw is a little too short. but different strokes for different folks. Sounds awesome.

  • yupp steeda "short throw" shifter lol....i almost agree with you though, i wanna use a longer shifter in the fastback when i do a conversion. thanks man

  • Title is a bit misleading. The engine is a stock 2 barrel 289, bone stock. The shifter is a steeda tri-ax on a t-5 5 speed manual trans out of a 1990 gt. Dash was cut when I bought it years ago.

  • What kind of motor?

  • Dam guys! i would kill to own a mustang 65 or evan a 64! i got stuck wiv a peugeot 106 (but hey! i can only get a mustang shipped over to england :() that was really nice! even with a cut dash it was amazing! i love the sound! i can only find automatic 64's aswell :(. But hey, nice vid and NICE car man:D

  • i live in belgium and i bought a 1966 2+2 Fastback, original 6Cyl. 4-speed manual, really fun to drive, it was imported from new jersey and sold on the 6th of january 1966 here in Belgium so it's an original belgian car, i'm sure there's plenty of english mustangs out there

  • Must have been cold, you got your heater on full blast!

  • Sounds like a honey.... but it ain't stock.

I have one and I know.

    (Mine is for sale)

  • how much for it?
