  • really strauss? you couldn't have the choir sing anything other than lalala?

  • @dracus494 You're just mad that you didn't think it up first.

  • I didn't know Mark Twain was a composer too

  • The military council disliked this video.

  • @FQBeast as a matter of fact , this is their official march

  • mmmm i am egyptian and i don't know that we had this march......... i have to look for my history

  • 2:05

    LALALALALALALA

  • you dont mess with the johann

  • I think at this time phrenology was the "main-stream" science. Thus, if you were female you sought out males who exhibited/simulated the most dominant traits according to phrenology (i.e. their heads looked big). Antecedents of this reproductive motivation may, I say may, have larger craniums vis-a-vis those whose ancestors believed in this phrenological conclusions.

  • Am I the only one that notices that in the title there is only one ''n'' in his name

  • @mossmossalex83 nice catch

  • 5 people were Jews enslaved by the Egyptians

  • Thumbs up if your watching this in 1903 -_-

  • @RixPixable

    lol :)

  • always I have thought that this kind of music has a mistery behind

  • Is it required to have dope facial hair to be a composer?

  • @Tfr3sh17 You never knew? dope facial hair is a must have for composers. If you don't have facial hair, people won't be able to pronounce your name properly or you're not a good composer

  • @vanburikwouter so what's about Mozart?

  • @MrKikelenon Mozart had the awesome Cthulu like power of the Deathly cool wig

  • He seriously reminds me of Groucho Marx.

  • Hosni Mubarak disliked 5 times....

  • @danishpride1 Best 'dislike roast' comment ever!

  • @danishpride1 LOL

  • The Israeli government disliked this 5 times.

  • hmmm...

a lot of good composers have impressive facial hair

    noted

  • @snowyowl10 The reason why a lot of good composers have impressive facial hair is because they're too busy composing works of such a high caliber that they don't have time for trivial things such as shaving (or whatever they did back then to remove facial hair)

  • @MrARandomPerson Mercury based lotions and pills filled with the powdered scabs of small pox victims.

  • Quite the Magnificent Mustache.

  • 1:28 ahead reminds me of Wallace and Gromit. =)

  • Me like! It's magical and playful.

  • Strauss is a genie

  • @LadyElisabethx I did,nt know that. Are any other composers mythical creatures?

  • @raystopher i mean that he is a master of skill :P xD

  • @raystopher I was joking. But I now understand you meant genius.

  • @LadyElisabethx or did you mean magical? both !

  • i thought of Harry Potter :P

  • @MrCrossForce How?

  • @TheFlyingFoodTester

    Don't know

It could be music that you should put into Harry Potter movies

  • @TheFlyingFoodTester

and 0:23 & 0:43 reminds me of star wars dark side theme

  • @TheFlyingFoodTester maybe because John wiliams composed both the music for harry potter and star wars.

  • @theanguished1 yeah but this is Johan Strauss

  • @gffgfgff : What Turkish March ? The only Turkish Marches I know are those of Mozart (the famous Rondo Alla Turca) and Beethoven, and none of them sounds a bit like this one.

This one is really Oriental, however I may have a second thought if I say it's Egyptian. To me, it's more like Persian or Arabian or Indian... just to me !

  • @nonadim What army? :P

  • @nonadim Duh

  • @nonadim yes but they would have to sneak for the first 30 seconds to match the music

  • Good piece, good record!! Thank you

  • When I was in my undergraduate studies in music composition in the late 1960's, a couple of my professors derided Strauss's music as "trite." No! Certainly any music can be performed in a trite, mocking manner (even Bach or Mozart). That's nothing more than a reflection on the musicians' lack of professionalism. If Strauss is performed with care and finesse, and with consideration to faithfully interpret his time and culture -- his works are *masterful*!

  • @thinkerartist those were probably the same instructors who thought people like Schoenberg were the way to the future, and any compositions that weren't 12 tone were unoriginal or to simple. It is always frustrating when your music is judged simply by it's harmonic complexity, and not by the emotion or nuance of it. there is so much more to music than just the notes you write.

  • @thinkerartist People who can, do. People who cannot, teach!

  • you´re absolutely right

a pitiy that that piece isn´t very well known..
