I think at this time phrenology was the "main-stream" science. Thus, if you were female you sought out males who exhibited/simulated the most dominant traits according to phrenology (i.e. their heads looked big). Antecedents of this reproductive motivation may, I say may, have larger craniums vis-a-vis those whose ancestors believed in this phrenological conclusions.
Even Hosni Mubarak could not stop this mans infinite mustache powers from bringing him down from his high throne to this song, which his mustache had written years ago..
@Tfr3sh17 You never knew? dope facial hair is a must have for composers. If you don't have facial hair, people won't be able to pronounce your name properly or you're not a good composer
@Tfr3sh17 You never knew? dope facial hair is a must have for composers. If you don't have facial hair, people won't be able to pronounce your name properly or you're not a good composer
@snowyowl10 The reason why a lot of good composers have impressive facial hair is because they're too busy composing works of such a high caliber that they don't have time for trivial things such as shaving (or whatever they did back then to remove facial hair)

@gffgfgff : What Turkish March ? The only Turkish Marches I know are those of Mozart (the famous Rondo Alla Turca) and Beethoven, and none of them sounds a bit like this one.
This one is really Oriental, however I may have a second thought if I say it's Egyptian. To me, it's more like Persian or Arabian or Indian... just to me !

Some people want white females to mix with non-white males.
I made a one-minute video highlighting a very tiny sample of race-mixing advertisements.
I love white people, and I am opposed to race-mixing. But I do not hate non-whites.
If you click on my name “autumntree2011” highlighted in blue below this comment, you can watch my video.
(I'm not a fan of Hitler or KKK.)

When I was in my undergraduate studies in music composition in the late 1960's, a couple of my professors derided Strauss's music as "trite." No! Certainly any music can be performed in a trite, mocking manner (even Bach or Mozart). That's nothing more than a reflection on the musicians' lack of professionalism. If Strauss is performed with care and finesse, and with consideration to faithfully interpret his time and culture -- his works are *masterful*!
thinkerartist 3 years ago 83
@thinkerartist those were probably the same instructors who thought people like Schoenberg were the way to the future, and any compositions that weren't 12 tone were unoriginal or to simple. It is always frustrating when your music is judged simply by it's harmonic complexity, and not by the emotion or nuance of it. there is so much more to music than just the notes you write.
