  • In my marching band the snares (what I play) have chin straps that touch our bottom lips like the ones in the movie Drum Line. Dude! Their AWESOME!

  • Thank god they werent wearing spats

  • wow this is so amazing! i love marching bands! ^^

  • @dianefelove Thanks for the comment! Glad you enjoyed it. If you liked this, look up the Hilton Generations Marching Band. I became a director there after graduating high school. I think you'll like our stuff! Thanks for viewing

  • you guys have nifty uniforms.

that candence sound slike so much fun to play.

  • @ohsnapitbejenna thanks! the uniforms were a good investment from the school - they were awesome! very comfortable too. the street beat was always a BLAST to play. A few of us are in a community marching band now after we graduated and we still play that one for fun from time to time. Thanks so much for the comment!

  • @ohsnapitbejenna thanks! im a current member of the marching band, i joined after the school board threatened to cut the marching band two years ago when membership drastically dropped from 150 members to thirty. i might not play percussion, but we always have fun with the street beat. we have the same one, with some added vocals :p if you want to see the revamped band in action, look up our 2010 homecoming field show/

  • Sounds like a fun cadence to play, would have been better if you guys stayed in 1 line unless it was suppose to be a arc

  • @tennesseevolfan111 thanks for the comment. it was not supposed to be an arc - it was a problem our line never overcame - the other guys would never dress center!! drove me nuts. thanks for the positive comments on the cadence - its fun to listen to, and even more fun to play - good mix of rudiment techniques

  • There lines werent to bad

  • that cadence has to be one of the most bad ass cadences I've heard in a while, freaking awesome job

  • @GregTheWhat Thanks so much for your kind words!! Our director played with numerous DCI and DCA corps so he knows how to write. We've hired him to arrange drumline parts for our new community marching band i've started in hilton. He's currently arranging a battery feature for us - so look for that this summer!

  • one of the snair players was out of of the line all kinds. vary slopy

  • dick

  • agressive n great, luved it

  • muggy day =(

  • pretty good snares for a high school but their bass look weak

  • @usster17 look up cinco ranch high school and morton ranch high school bands or any band from katy, texas they sound better than this. in texas we have middle schools and elementary schools that sound better than this

  • lol stay in a line snares shew

  • very nice

  • I LOVE OUR CANDANCE!!!!!!

  • This is my highschool. I was in the marching band for a few years. Played the clarinet. This is the same cadence they've always used and our drumline is KICK ASS! Always has been and always will. HCHS bands rock!

  • yeah, feet in time. if your feet arent in time it takes away from the unity. you may as well not play together if you arent counting/marching together

  • those snares look awful low. nice cadence though!

  • we're so copying this..

  • Tiny ass band ours is huge!

  • @ScatmanStan wow. Youre a jerk.

  • awesome cadence

  • dam yall need to guide left or right ask your director

  • im in 8th grade and we dont march much yet we start next year... but we are supposed to keep our feet together front to back and my feet go out naturally lol it feels so uncomfortable!

  • @bmankilla37 I agree to that!

  • the cam makes it look like they r not guideing center i wonder if its just the cam

  • i have a question i am in the band this is my second year but i want to know in parades do you have to march the whole way. btw you guy were great

  • yes u do

  • it looks disgusting when a drumline doesn't guide to each other. or even march on step. the cadence itself was alright but really the marching ruined the whole thing

  • eh it was okay.

what kind of straight line do you guys have!?

do you know how to guide?

    it got better later tho.

it was cooly how people get into it and all, i wish my drum instructor would let us lol.

  • I love it when the bass player starts to dance

  • Yea baby this is my school man, our drumline is beast

  • not better than ours

  • Pretty Groovy! nice. cadence was kind of square tho at the end. technique is ok. i like the band getting into it! thats hard to coordinate and sell! go band! middle snare spreads his feet looks around and stops marking time at 2:14 or so! AAAHHH! cardinal sin! other wise very fun nice job!

  • atleast they got technique i know some bands (like SOuthern University) where all stick heights will be off and tempo will b off and they would be playing as loud as can be!

  • Snares look like their arms are really close in to their bodies like all scrunched up

  • fucken badass really good catchy beat

  • man you guys are good, like college good

  • the snares sounded a litle slopy....but over all a decent cadence!!!!!!!

  • the snares should seriously consider staying in line. Sounds good though

  • has to be the cleanest high school drum cadence i have ever heard. My school could never play like that

  • then your drumline must really suck

  • nice street parade huh!....

  • hey they may be out of line and what not (neck), but it does sound good

  • catchy

  • GOD DAMN have you guys seriously never heard of adressing to your lines? Your line were disgusting, over all though the music was nice

  • @whsdrummer09 lol. we have heard of dressing the lines, but the rest of the line just never did it. kills the overall effect when we look like shit which is a shame. thanks for the comments on the cadence though, it was always a lot of fun to play since it was pretty involved for a high school cadence. thanks for watching and commenting!

  • kind of sounds like the tenors need to be tuned

  • they sound good....but they look so stiff

  • :08-:12 is amazing!

  • good lord keep your lines straight

  • our drumers would so out drum u

  • Very nice HS Line!!!! Love the energy.

  • exelent just another 2 basses and 2 more cymbals

  • Those uniforms are kickass...

  • hmmm at 1:40 it looked like the guys near the center back of the band there feet look like there like doing the monnwlak forward its probly cause the ground is wet looks funny as hell thos

  • is it just me or are they all out of step

  • i wish my high school could play like this

  • agreed about center snare and straight lines, but the cymbals and cadence sound great that stood out to me :]

  • clean it up a little or maybe its just the cameras sound pickup.

  • we have those same snares

    just not as new...

  • They can play really well, but can't stay in lines at all.

  • Bounce, Bounce, Bounce, Bounce! Get those toes up!

  • I agree with jbass the center snare makes the line look really bad.

  • lines could be straighter, stick heights could be more consistant, and feet could be more on step...but overall, very impressive cadence.

  • Good cadence, but straighter lines are a need.

  • i agree i think that this year we have it strighter i hope this year i'll be closer to being part of the snare line

  • dude, i personally thought you guys were awesome. you reminded me of my school's drumline knowing how to get into it and make it fun.

the cadence rocked by the way.

  • Zeldaali, its good to see someone agrees with my point and you made an excellent point adjusting the steps to be in time.

  • the snare line also needs to adjust their steps so they are marching in time. Goes for all sections of the band, not just drumline. got use your eyes to the front & sides

  • =[ i live right near the highschool so every summer i have to hear them practice

  • no offense, but when marching they need to use their peripheral vision to stay in a straight line especially the snares.

  • im a lead quad player for the show band at my skool. and thats very impressive...

  • nice..i'm a bass drummer.any scores?

  • damn

there aren't drumlines lika that here in mexico...

    well maybe there are 2 o 3

but anydrumline in the states ould kick

    their asses:(

    anyway

    cool playing

i practice to play like that

bt i get tired to soon...

any tips on endurance or resistance...or stamina????

  • freekin awsome dudes!

  • nice beat =))

  • dope

  • inspired by usc at all? haha they do some of the same visuals on their snare line.

  • Yo man i didn't know i be in this i'm the cymbal player first year but i didn't sound so good i'm happy i'm playing bass drum this year

  • Great cadence, but dont you usually put your left foot on 1 and 3 and the right foot on 2 and 4? Or do some schools just do it different?

  • good observation! the video and audio aren't synced right online like it is on my computer. for whatever reason uploading seems to screw that up with a few of my videos. we march with the left foot hitting on 1 and 3, but the video online is a little off and many of the kids are just CLUELESS. thanks for the post! I can't wait to play with a real corp for '08-'09!!

  • I know the kids your talking about. But at least judging by this video everyone puts there foot down on a beat. Theres this one other sousaphone player in my band that can play in time, but just...idk how to explain it. He walks completely out of time. You can even yell what foot your on to him the whole time and he still wont be able to do it. Its really annoying for the other 253 of us that do it right when 1 person screws it up.

  • haha! yea, that sounds exatally like one of the guys in the drumline!! fun stuff...

  • @zeppelinfreak51 254 wow what division are you in, also in our band we have a kid that does exactly the same thing.

  • marching isnt that good. kinda lookds like your just walking. cool cadence though.

  • dude our marching band is the best i have to say that was a pretty good proformance but the guard is to quiet they should be louder

  • Left hand accents are non-existant

  • we actually just switched to traditional grip about 4 weeks before this show. Hilton had played match grip for over 25 years!! its nice to have finally made the switch! but yes, left hand accents were non-existant, but that was also a problem with some members before the switch too!! thanks for the post!

  • Dude uniforms are badass nice playing

  • THIS IS NOT DCI or DCA!

  • very good

  • keep a straight F******* LINE

  • the guy to there right get so out of step he is on the up beat

  • i was glad but hella surpised to see the switch to traditional

  • haha, so were we!! when Tim Stodd says he wants something, you can clearly see everyone jump into action!! you're with cru?

  • Stodd actually wanted traditional? weird... haha but cool and yep

  • btw it IS a good video, I am just seriously pondering that question. I remember a kid in band way back when who couldn't read music or march in step, but when we played at our first parade competition he was moved next to me in the block, and I thought he was amazing. Wierd stuff I must sya.

  • How can you play in time and not be in step?

  • thats a question i've been asking for a loooooong time. some kids.... sighh
