I believe God keeps Hell and Heaven hidden from humans while on Earth. So the sounds heard during the dig, in my opinion, were not the sounds of Hell. Probably of the earth's plates shifting. It does make a person think. I think the most realistic "hell sounds" I've heard are the sounds of patients screaming on a high security mental ward. I've spent time on a less secure ward, but we were right beside that ward. Some of the patients scream all night. It is awful.

Most people don't want to give up their sins or admit that they are in the wrong. It is easier to just deny the existence of God and eternity, and eternal justice.
