Neil's daughter died in a car accident and his wife died of cancer like a week later, so he blew off the steam by riding around the country on his motorcycle. Everyone just thought they broke up because there was no real news on what happened. So basically, they didn't want to stop after Test for Echo, it just happened because of Neil. What I want to know is what kind of album they would've put out if Neil's tragedy didn't happen...

*Sigh* I know you all are out there, but I never went to the right parties I guess, and I'm twice your age. I've found more women your age that are Rush fans than my generation as it turns out now!! Could be my locale, too...Geddy (how he spells his name) is funny looking, but that's how he gets his vocal tone, which I've always liked. Rush were also heavily criticized (in the early days especially) for his vocals, but I love what he did then and what he's been doing since the early 80's.

I was brought up under a variety of different genres. To this day I still enjoy most of them. They include (but are not limited to) The Beatles, Eric Clapton, Tom Petty, Bryan Adams, Journey... etc etc. I mean, I like a lot of recent music too, but the classics will always have a place in my heart. =) My favorite bands are from the 60's 70's, 80's and 90's. After that, music just started getting redundant, but occasionally I find a new band that is surprisingly, pleasantly original.

Rush should have been inducted into the R&R Hall Of Fame years ago, especially considering all the acts that HAVE been inducted have in some way or another been influenced by Rush. It's a travesty....

RUSH, the only band that I know of that would sell out 4 shows in the same week in Chicago back in early 80's. I should know, I went to all of them, even one time my buddy forgot his ticket and his dad would not drive him back, I went in alone and made new friends! Awesome back in the day and still awesome.
