I recently bought a M K guitar, and I have no clue what it is. I know it's an hourglass, but I'm not sure whether it's a Q, Limited, etc. I believe it's a Q, but it doesn't have a 2-tone paint job to it. It's just a natural "blond" color. Could it be a Q?
hi i am looking at gettin either this guitar or one from the patriot range i play mainly blues and rock not much heavy stuff which would be better suited tone wise?
Good idea-I will try to do one. I am not into that style of guitar, but man do they sound good :-). I used the Patriot Phoenix a little on our EP-it sounded great.
Thanks that does help a lot man! And customs with the coil tap feature usually have a 3 way toggle switch instead of the rotary. thanks for the help bro!
Hey man thanks to this video I'm pretty set on this guitar, you made it sound killer! But I needed to ask you something, I wanted to swap the pickups out and put in some PRS dragons or dragon IIs, both coil tapped on some PRS guitars. I wanted to know if I could set those pickups to be coiled tapped on this? Thats sort of the make or break for me, since the level of versatily is what drew m. If you could answer thatd be a great help, keep rocking man!
I think... the Dragons are set up to be not only tapped but wired out of phase and paralell. So any tech should be able to just pt them in and wire them the same way. I don't know who has 5 way rotary switches though. Dillion Guitars has the 3 way rotary switches. Hope that helps! :-)

They don't make these anymore, but they do still make the Limited version of the Hourglass.
Let me know if you are interested.

Well-the Hourglass Q is not made anymore. You can use either for blues. The Patriot may be a little darker sounding though.

Patriot custom is pretty dark, compared to my ibanez S series ;)

Yes I have-the Limited and the Custon have different tops, but they are designed the same. The Patriot is pretty popular here at my store.
