  • I saw this film when it came out in 76. I liked it. They gave the sniper some mystery and every time his scope came up it was like "Uh oh!!" I like these story driven 70's flicks. Its not perfect but at least it has a STORY. And they never really explain why the dude is doing this. Sometimes in life people just do shit

  • TRIVIA: This film was bought by NBC who filmed 30-minutes (IMDB states 30-minutes, I remember TV guide stating 60-minutes, whatever) of extra footage with new actors and crew that explained the sniper as a diversion for an art robbery. When they re-ran the movie they kept all of the new footage and cut 45-minutes out of the original. Because the NBC version was less violent that was the version most people have seen on TV.

  • Interesting fact: Footage from this movie was used in THE DAY AFTER.

  • A great great movie! But it scares me! Why? Because Al Queda could try something like this! Maybe during the Olympics? In the movie the chaos killed dozens of ppl if not hundreds!

  • I don't know why the critics rip this one like they do. I just watched it, thought it was great...

  • by 0:39 i thought he was gunna name every in the stadium

  • Probably the wildest ending in any movie in history.Great movie.I can imagine they would not show this on Super Bowl Sunday.

  • @mrjim271 That'd be almost as bad as playing Die Hard 2 on a flight on Sept. 11.

  • Charlton Heston Got Two Minute Warning Instead Of Jaws,Barry Lyndon,Taxi Driver And The Omen. How Many People Had Got Killed By The Sniper How Many People Were Wounded By The Sniper.

  • One of the first "SWAT Team" movies, maybe the first.

  • Another 70's flick that I recommend is Black Sunday.

  • The tv version deals with a robbery of some paintings and the sniper is paid to cause a diversion. The movie flopped when it was released and the teams in the movie actually did play once in the SuperBowl The book is by a man whose last name is Frontiere something like that I read the book

  • 91,OOO PEOPLE....33 EXITS ONE SNIPER

  • This was indeed an intense suspenseful thriller. It had an incredible cast led by the late legendary Charlton Heston. They sure do not make movies like this anymore. Great trailer!

    Ken Palmer

P.S.- Are you aware that there are two versions of this film? There is one that was shown on regular television, but it has been edited and contains a completely different storyline to it. I guess the original theatrical version is not suitable for television. I own both versions of them.

  • One of the great underated suspense movies from the 70's. A great cast lead by Heston.

  • 91,000 people....33 exits.....one sniper.

  • where are all the cigarettes? its the 70's live baby live? man no aids, hell no herpies man it must have been a sexual dynamo huh?

  • man did anybody watching this movie at the time think OJ would hack up his x-wife? man that OJ what a crazy clown huh? I think OJ should have stuck with decaf!!!!!

  • just for history's sake i hope hollywood is bashing the vietnam vets by making him one the shooter, man the swat guys r just as wackec. crack is wack!!!

  • a high powered riffle? do they make a low powered riffle? kinda like in the auto industry "the big three" wtf, well who are the small three?

  • bo bridges, sorry, jezz, i still wanna bang his on screen wife

  • damn i had to go to the bathroom what just happened, what did I miss? did his knees hold up? did jeff bridges hit his kid again? can i bang his wife? meow? who is that actress? ah she is an old hag now forget it?

  • who won the fake game? did tyler go to hell for having sex outside of marriage? did jack klugman get thrown out the window? if not can I help? did they ever listen to charlseton heston, those damn burrocrates!!!

  • Look its a leftie with a rifle.

  • Great new bio (Charlton Heston: An Incredible Life: Revised Edition) for sale at amazon!

  • That's the Bretheless Movie.

  • director tom gries came clean on this one.

  • cool 70s movie

  • This was one of my most favorite suspense thriller films ever produced. It's just a shame they don't make them like this anymore! Great movie trailer!

    Ken Palmer

  • Wow. SWAT sure did wait a long time to get the guy.

  • I just finished watching this movie on TV...

  • should win an award for Best Movie with the Worse Ending of all time..i still can't beleive the ending.. such a shame

  • I wish the movie was as good as the trailer...

  • all the game footage is a USC Trojans game it looks like vs Stanford

  • @ickyraytrojan Good eye! It is indeed from the 1975 meeting of those two teams (which Stanford won 13-10).

  • Sniper was a crazy shot, even the SWAT snipers couldn't handle him

  • I saw this film when i was wee,and ivealways wanted to know what it was called, now i know. I love the internet!

  • crazy movie, but good though. better than most of the crap hollywood puts out these days

  • I just heard him say "Dirty son of a bitch" in 2 minute warning. I am watching it right now actually.

  • david janssen (the Fugitive) was wounded. pamela bellwood was wounded, walter pidgeon got wounded and jack klugman got wounded.

did they really go to the hospital. as well as john cassavettes was wounded. how many people were shot in two minute warning i seen that one on showtime as a kid

  • Actually Janssen, Pidgeon, Klugman and the QB were all killed. You're right about the rest. I just saw this on AMC last month and I was amazed even in the edited version how brutal and bloody it is even by today's standards. I hope this one ISN'T one they'd remake.

  • Charlton Heston had got two minute warning instead of Midnight Cowboy,Butch cassidy and the sundance kid, patton, love story, dirty harry, the godfather, paper moon, death wish, jaws, dog day afternoon, barry lyndon, taxi driver and the Omen. he turned down those movie roles. and got two minute warning instead.

  • if thats true, which I can believe, no one ever said 'Guns & Moses' was a smart man.

  • Great Film!!! Loved Jack Klugmans loveable Rouge part.

  • Great film.

  • I don't think Chuck ever said "Dirty son of a bitch!" in any of his movies. It's just a myth.

  • actually he did in this movie, although i think it was really 'miserable son of a bitch', when he was questioning the sniper after he got shot down.
