search for "Macaframa" and click the first link, those are bikes with fixed gears. remember when we were kids and on our bikes, to hit the breaks- we'd have to reverse the pedals? and if you were going down a hill, you'd probably skid the fuck out? well, those are fixed gears.

Macaframa is like the Fully Flared of fixed gears.

not sure/no expert but you might be thinking of coaster brakes. fixed gears don't have free wheel so the pedals always move. there are ways to stop with fixies (skids, popping the back tire up...) but you can't "hit the breaks" unless you have handbreaks. i'm sure you knw that and i am just misreading you /being redundant but i didn't want someone to think that fixed is the same as free wheel with coaster brakes. fixed gears can be fun so big ups for pointing skate kids in their direction.

yeah fixed when you hit back on the pedals the wheel actually spins backwards, coaster brakes are the bikes from our childhood, a lot of messengers swear by fixed gear bikes
