they may not be indestructable, but if you follow the handling instructions, you should never have to repair them. my dad bought a zz top cd in 89 that still looks as new now as it did bck then because he handles them properly

I wood have liked him 2 have explained the best way of getting the paste off without risk of damage e,g do u use yr thumb or cloth to remove the excess while using water or alcohol? Then he could have shown us him getting the stuff off.

guys the toothpaste rick actually works, most people are having trouble because they put too much toothpaste on only put on as much as you would your toothbrush then spread it out so there is just a very very thin layer on the whole disc THEN you let it sit for 5 mins or whatever and then wash it off

@Cloud10v35Aerith yeah, this Is a year later, but, TBH, Toothpaste really does work, you need to rub it from the center to the outside in a straight line, multiple times, where the scratch is, it creates a diff kind of scratch, however, doing it 10~15 times or so will fill in the scratch, (did this with a few of my xbox games) and it really does work. It may LOOK like its worse, but it fills in the bad scratches.

Well I have to say...I have tried this on two disks One was oblivion on the PC and the other was an album by Tool. It worked quite well on the game,But on the Album,Sadly it didnt, I personaly think you have a 49.5% chance of this failing and the same for it working the other 1% is that a robot cow will fly through your window and break your computer in a second.Attempt at your own risk.

you have to use colgate toothpaste or other kinds that arent gel based (crest) and that dont have any thing in it like freshbeads and mini breathstrips, you can get the right kind usually at a nearby grocery store like, i live in Louisiana near DeLaunes Supermarket, i just ride my bike down there and could get stuff like Colgate toothpaste, ax cologne, and you can even get stuff like paper, pencil, etc. Any grocery store pretty much sells toothpaste with and without gel,such as colgate and crest

Ok, overall.... it didn't work for me.

I left the toothpaste on it for 5-10 mins, because i wanted to make sure it worked.

Washed it off and yeah sure enough i thought it worked, but no the water combined with the toothpaste temporerily masks the scratches until it's dry.
