@idoido75 You are exactly right, Planned Parenthood states that less than 7% of all abortions are teens, the majority are women in their 20's. Also for the whole 'rape' arguments, less than 1% of women having abortions state that it was a pregnancy from rape.

Hospitals were closing due to the flood of illegals into the emergency rooms long before the economy tanked. Our schools started failing long before the economy tanked. People do make the decision of abortion lightly. We as a society have been desensitized to the reality that a child in the womb is life and abortion is an horrific act. Over time, society as a whole has downplayed the horror of abortion. Today, abortion is made lightly by a large number of people.
there's no gov't intervention as it stands. a woman is free to choose whether or not she wants to abort and the gov't is allowed no say in this decision. allowing the states to decide necessitates gov't intervention...the local gov't has decided for you and *that* is wrong.

Most murder and violence cases are handled at the state and local level. Let states decide at what point a fetus becomes a person - it is the only way to "solve" the abortion issue.

There are many many major restrictions on late term abortions related to the direct health of the mother. Banning even late term abortions can potentially kill the mother. Have you looked into the reason why late term abortions occur? Only in extreme instances are they allowed. There are massive complications that can and do occur that can result in a direct threat to the life of the mother.,,,again...late term abortions are not allowed flippantly. Also, a second physician is allowed in the room to assist late-term abortions in an effort to preserve viable fetuses. @cagerat: The argument for legalizing marijuana has some merit to it, to a point. But, legalizing it isn't the same thing as legalizing heroin or crack. As you mentioned in another comment on here, "crack is an instant problem". Supposedly heroin doesn't quite have that strength to it but, it's close. Legalizing the soft drug's probably does have a lot of merit to it. However, it realistically only has merit to allow the state's to do it while the federal gov't stay's out of it completely.
Some girl I was dating had an abortion on my baby with out even telling me. Since its her body I guess its her choice come to find out she has had 4 other abortions. Aparently there are some women out there using abortion as a way of protected sex. Its not the first time I have heard of that either. @monica2ization I remember my mom always told me the story of how she aborted her first child due to her being convinced by the father and his coaches because the father was an All-American and had scholarships and the whole deal. So, she got the abortion. After the abortion she felt terrible and she knew that what she had done was wrong. After the abortion the father drifted away from her and they stopped speaking.

Of course, as you can guess, this made her feel even worse cause she felt as if she destroyed a life for nothing. Prior to this knowledge though she told herself that she would never have another abortion. Once she got pregnant a second time she held to that promise.

The only thing I have to add is that surveys/studies show that that rape accounts for a very small percentage of abortion charges. But like you said in your first response, it's more a political issue, and, statistically speaking, I can't help but see it as an it's my body rebellious attitude (especially considering the number of rape victims that either keep the baby or take the morning after pill.

There are many many major restrictions on late term abortions related to the direct health of the mother. Banning even late term abortions can potentially kill the mother. It seems the pro-life camp aren't too concerned with the life of the mother...this is a problem.

Have you looked into the reason why late term abortions occur? Only in extreme instances are they allowed. There are massive complications that can and do occur that can result in a direct threat to the life of the mother.,,,again...late term abortions are not allowed flippantly. Also, a second physician is allowed in the room to assist late-term abortions in an effort to preserve viable fetuses. Ron Paul stopped practising medicine a long time ago and confuses fact with fiction.

Please try to understand that any late term abortions that occur are done very very infrequently and only in the most dire circumstances. Undermining the life/health of the mother in an effort to support your convictions does you no favors.

If they are receiving funding for their gov't, their law enforcement, etc. from the federal gov't then could the special interest's, for the legalization of drug's, petition the federal gov't to pass a Constitutional Amendment to legalize all drug's, & in the meantime ...

@cagerat: Legalizing drug's on the federal level is ultimately foolish & stupid. We largely already know what the cost's would be on the whole. Allowing the state's to do it slowly & on their own, individually, allows the state that is considering it to watch another state that is doing it so that the state that may, or may not, legalize it later on will be much more likely to avoid the mistake's of the state(s) that didn't have a great time of it.
Paul seems to want a full repeal approach; ...

@cagerat How would we feel if we change the argument from "back alley abortions" as a reason to legalize it to "back alley drug abuse" to legalize drug use? How many people die from overdoses and gang wars? How much money do we spend fighting human vise? How much nicer would it be if we had drug bars where the doses were measured properly and people didn't die from dirty needles and overdoses? Just a thought.

@cagerat: The argument for legalizing marijuana has some merit to it, to a point. But, legalizing it isn't the same thing as legalizing heroin or crack. As you mentioned in another comment on here, "crack is an instant problem". Supposedly heroin doesn't quite have that strength to it but, it's close. Legalizing the soft drug's probably does have a lot of merit to it. However, it realistically only has merit to allow the state's to do it while the federal gov't stay's out of it completely.

Some girl I was dating had an abortion on my baby with out even telling me. Since its her body I guess its her choice come to find out she has had 4 other abortions. Aparently there are some women out there using abortion as a way of protected sex. Its not the first time I have heard of that either. I think this is wrong and it depresses me at times to think some one killed my baby which I look at as a life. Some people are not thinking about it and just having it done on the regular sorry woopy

@monica2ization I remember my mom always told me the story of how she aborted her first child due to her being convinced by the father and his coaches because the father was an All-American and had scholarships and the whole deal. So, she got the abortion. After the abortion she felt terrible and she knew that what she had done was wrong. After the abortion the father drifted away from her and they stopped speaking.

@monica2ization As it turns out, the father entered college, got sucked into the college world, and blew it all. Of course, as you can guess, this made her feel even worse cause she felt as if she destroyed a life for nothing. Prior to this knowledge though she told herself that she would never have another abortion. Once she got pregnant a second time she held to that promise.

@monica2ization Unfortunately, she ended up giving birth to a dead baby as she felt even worse becuase this seemed like some sort of off-shoot to her abortion. In all, I think this is the untold story of abortion. I think this is the stuff people don't think about when they say "It's there bodies." These females are fooled to the point where they don't think about the consequences and how something like this can plauge for the rest of their lives.

@monica2ization I mean, it's been years since that happened and whenever my mom tells the story I can always hear the sadness, the grief, and the sorrow in her voice. So many people like to think that abortion is the easier, "right" choice, but that doesn't always hold true. In fact, I think more women like my mom should informing these females about the real trials of abortion and not this apparent "It's my/their body and I/they can do what I want!" rebellious take on it.

The only thing I have to add is that surveys/studies show that that rape accounts for a very small percentage of abortion charges. But like you said in your first response, it's more a political issue, and, statistically speaking, I can't help but see it as an it's my body rebellious attitude (especially considering the number of rape victims that either keep the baby or take the morning after pill.

If you think RP is a liberal, you need to do some serious research about classic republicans (Taft, Lincoln, etc).
