If the driver of the Mustang could actually drive then I think it could have won unless the motor was high mileage and tired. The mustang had significant wheel slippage in first and as you said missed 2nd. I had a 5.0 mustang, you can not miss 2nd or you would lose a drag against an import v6. Tough truck though.

Sorry, but 8 years playing in the diesel world and I have to call BS on truck's power level. 45psi will not be anywhere close to 1000lbs torque on a common rail. Heck 45psi is closer to the 4-500hp range. Maybe 775-850torque. The haze of smoke reflects that. Maybe a Smarty. Stock Turbo likely.

Bragging about having a K&N on the truck is like braging about having a Fram oil filter on a Cummins.

These cummins right here run dam good. In my old red 91 gt 5.0, one give me a run for my money, we were neck and neck but i was very suprised cause i thought he was about to pull me. But just the other day a cummins comes up beside me at the redlite on the highway thinking he was gonna outrun me , Oh was he wrong, I was in my 93 gt 5.0 and i sucked the headlights out of that truck lol, of course my stang is built out the ass and not even a stock z06 with full bolt ons can outrun it.

it probably will push 45 psi only for like a second tho when you push the pedal down suddenley. if it dont hold that 45 psi it doesnt count. turn the wastegate off and it might see 45 psi on that stock turbo before it melts. but with that bullydog you cant turn it off. just with a smarty.

Thats clearly a 5.0 and FYI they had 5.0's until th 95 model year not 94. The 302ci (5.0) has been in production for quite a while. If you listen to the video you can hear the 5.0 V8. Never under estimate a hopped up diesel truck, mucho torque beats tiny hp every time.

I understand its a truck vs a sporty car but I still wonder if this was even a fair match-up. The ram was pretty modified whereas the mustang was almost completely stock. The ram has a turbo which the mustang doesn't. I guess what I'm saying is that the ram was tuned specifically for super fast acceleration where as the stock tuned mustang is set-up for general driving and possibly higher gas mileage . Now f the mustang loses to stock pick-ups that is just sad.
