It is true, friends... A-Ha was one of the best groups in the 80s. I just cannot understand how the youth today can hear so bad stuff. We hear only bad music in the radio, nowadays. Just because they are "pretty boys" and don't make what you could call "dense music", people usually tend to overlook their musical talent, regarding them as just another mediocre pop band who made it big in the 80's, which is really far from the truth.(same is true for Duran Duran).

He partly tells it coldly, as if he´d be an observer of his own.

And in the end, with the drums, the tune (or story) starts all over again. The whisper "Don´t speak..." + those pushing two guitar-chords - then the the exclamation: "And I´m waiting!!!!"

To me it is a man who killed his girlfriend and them discovers he cannot let her go, that he is helpless without her.

And in the end he is waiting... for the next one, for a new try with another one, which will fail. Very sinister song!!!

Si, ils y ont survécu, puisque leur album Minor earth major sky sorti en 2000 a été acclamé par la presse musicale anglaise:l'album a été nommé le 29ème meilleur de l'année (loin devant Bjork par exemple...Pas mal!). C'est bien dommage si les medias français ne veulent plus d'eux, mais en Allemagne,par ex. leurs albums ont été numéro 1 en 2000 et 2002, et un de leurs singles s'est classé dans le top 10 en Angleterre en 2006.

I must've listened to this a dozen times in succession on the way to work most mornings!

THE finest band to come out of Norway, and that's no bad thing. They are incredible and are still pallatable to today's audiences, not many 80s bands can claim that and even fewer 90s bands!

Has anyone else noticed that Morten's speaking voice has little or no accent? I'm English and his accent is clearer than a lot of the natives here;)

Otimas musicas mesmo...pena que nasci muito tempo depois (1993) dessa e de outras otimas bandas ( Air Supply, New edition, Queen, entre outras)não consigo gostar da maioria das musicas atuais...é algo totalmente sem pé nem cabeça, não tem a "magica" da musica que tinha nessa época...na minha opinião, atualmente não vale a pena tentar fazer sucesso com a musica, pois maior parte dos artistas acabam se empolgando, e caindo nas drogas...

A-HA tem algumas características musicais interessantes. São músicas relativamente simples, mas com muito bom gosto (vide o sucesso que fizeram). Apesar da bateria eletrônica, a música é bastante agradável aos ouvidos. (quem pode negar?) Os arranjos de teclado são simples porém marcantes. Eles mostram que para fazer boa música nem sempre precisa-se de complexidade...Parabéns ao A-HA!

Loved the first four singles from their debut album "Hunting High And Low" - but when "I've Been Losing You" invaded the airwaves I was knocked sideways. WOW! The driving, powerful force of this masterpiece is what defines A-Ha as one of the greatest rock/pop bands of the eighties and early nineties - indeeed, of all time. Their songs are timeless classics .

Truly great stuff. It didn't hurt either that Morten Harkett was the sexiest guy in the industry.
